How much time have you put into Halo 4?

The sum to finish the campaing plus some two or three hours on MP... that's what I'm talking about... bad MP... bored so fast... the campaing is good.
PS. I didn't played ODST too.

I was just refering to Halo 4, but good to know. I think if you gave the multiplayer a go at now you might enjoy it. It's changed a lot since launch, for the better.
There is no bigger Halo vet than me (played the first game at launch through Halo 4) and let me tell you, Halo lost it's soul the day Bungie waked away.
It's sad, but that's life. Nothing lasts forever.

Define "broke", because that is a complete opinion and not a fact at all. Every major Halo installment after Halo 2 had to deal with a massive number of nostalgic fans. Halo 3 released 2007, that game had two full years until the first BIG competition (MW2) appeared. Until MW3 (2011) COD sales have increased, in the same year Battlefield 3 arrived on consoles. On top of that, MANY other games became very popular (i.e. Assassin's Creed, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Borderlands, GTA, Gears of War). Halo 4 released in a way more difficult time than it's predecessors. |
I don't like this argument. It's Halo. Who cares about the competition. CoD kept growing year after year even with more competition. Halo should be able to do what CoD did. It used to be the biggest shooter on the 360 it isn't a small game that can't compete with CoD.
Edit: Also look at GTA 5 it crushed all the records even with all the competition and all the GTA style games out there.

I played in March/April... when I did the thread about how the MP looks dead (in terms of activity) compared with previous Halos.
What changed that make the MP better now?
| CGI-Quality said: End of gen fatigue, I'd say (coupled with so much more competition, something Halo 2 didn't have to worry about when the 360 launched). Halo 5 will have a HUGE following, ad campaign, and (yes, I'm calling it), the highest sales of the series - proving there's nothing to worry about for the series. |
Nope they took the rank ups away. Everyone ranks up by how long you play instead of if you win or lose the match. I'm probably not explaining this well. Ok I'm a Brig General in H3 I played hard to get that tried to get General but didn't. Reach and H4 it isn't present like there is no incentive to keep playing.
Regarding H3 it was just free this last half of this past month. Plus it was really addictive. Why did they change soooooooo much?
Halo 4 has the better competive multplay IMO, I couldn´t play it more than Reach just because I got a job.
I can´t go back to Halo 3 it´s agonizing you aren´t able to sprint. That was the main problem with Reach in some small maps that the only armor ability usefull was sprint. The perk sistem didn´t bother me that much, I made 5 or 6 buids and change the speciality.
And the ordenance drop for me was a very good addition, it changed the balance of the gameplay.
The campain was Ok, the cinematics were state of the art. They tried to engage people emocionaly, but its dificult when the main character is a hulk faceless super soldier. And the "go there kill some bad aliens and press the buton at the end" was a little pokey.
The only thing I think Halo 4 fell behind was the co-op multplay. The Spartan Ops idea was interesting and the history line added a lot to the Halo Universe.... but I missed the mindless joy of killing covenant wave after wave.
I can't help to feel this thread was posted by a Playstation fan trying to show how MS's top game is dying. Regardless... I'd say Halo 4 isn't a bad game but a bad Halo game. Most fans were pretty disappointed with it, including me. We just want our arena shooter back.

-Balancing patches with weapons and vehicles like boltshot, guesshog, Battle rifle, carbine, etc.
-CSR added. Not as robust as Halo 3's because it can only be seen on Halowaypoint, but still matches you up with similar ranks fairly well.
-Now there are custom games searches added.
-The playlist have been modified to include game types similar to Halo 3 like Legendary slayer. Along with a better selection of game types to choose from.
-Other small fixes and cosmetic changes like an "X" over a dead teammate, and killcams fixed. A bunch of other little problems fixed.
The game still has some problems like lag and host issues that can't be fixed without dedicated servers. Then I have my personal problems with the game like there should be a DLC only playlist like in Halo 3, but Halo 4 overall is much better than when it launched.
