It's not the Xbox One, which is the problem per se, IT IS THE MICROSOFT, and their deceitful, sinister, bullying plans! Let me give a few examples:
They don't know how to design hardware
Original Xbox is the largest console to date. Just plain ugly.
Xbox 360 has this ginormous power brick. I have never seen any other console with an external power brick in my life and MS did it.
Xbox One is bulkier, heavier, weaker and more expensive than PS4. It's not only ugly but also comes with, you know, a huge power brick!
Another reason why MS don't give a shit about consumers. They could easily drop the price to $399 and easily be competitive in the US (not so much in the rest of the world). But no, they want to exploit the Xbox fans first.
Their despicable gaming policies and hideous 180 turns etc are among many other reasons why we hate MS and their unwanted off spring Xbone.
Ok, let me count a bit more...
They have this hideous Graphical UI, Direct 3D (and DirectX in general), you know... Why do they still have it, instead of adopting the Open GL, like everybody else? No, they have to own the propriatory API so that they can blackmail people to do everything their way. DirectX 10 is available only for Vista and later, so that they can push people to the newer releases. This is also why DirectX 11.2 is only available to Windows 8. Likewise newer versions of Internet Explorer and Sky Drive or many other MS software is only available for Vista or later.
They do not only want to manage everything you do, their way they want you to do, but also they want you to be their slave and keep feeding them with every other new windows release. Sony has no such agenda. Yes, they wanna capitalize on music, video, games etc business as well, but you are never forced to do, there are many other alternatives. They are not in a position to harness forced network effects with a PC ecosystem.
