Those IGN vids are crap. If you want to see decent footage watch these in 1440p which helps make up for YouTube's also crappy compression.

IMHO these are the best vids currently available and show how the PS4s multiplayer looks on par or better than the XB1s single player.

Awwwww. But that comparison is more accurate and doesn't fit my agenda.

Is it difficult to have a good convesation without starting bitching?
It is based on personal oppinion/taste, nothing to do with having an agenda... Esp. when the exact same thing can be said regarding the other source of video...

Next time instead of starting shit in the tread, please take the time to look at the videos and give your honnest oppinion for a change...

- My comment was actually directed at a few others, although it may had been directed at you too if you had intentionally ignored other comparisons and the Digital Foundry analysis. If this is the only comparison you have come across then I apologise.

- It's not based on personal opinion when it's exactly the same game across all platforms and when TV / monitor settings can manipulate how the game looks to suit your preference. There is a factual side to graphical comparisons, pixels, framerate, textures and so on.

- Are you saying using raw uncompressed comparison footage means you have an agenda?

- My honest opinion on the IGN video? I can't see shit, even the current-gen and next-gen comparisons end up looking the same in some parts. The only difference I see between the PS4 and Xbox One versions is that the Xbox One version has a higher contrast, which might not even be accurate depending on how the footage was captured.

Your previous comments may be directed to "others" but it is still a post to antagonize people (Xbox enthousiats or not) and derail the thread.

It is a matter of personnal oppinon. The lightning and the constrast are different and even that blurry effect which is also visibile on other sources (not only IGN). As I'm not the only one seeing it if you look at other people in the thread.

I'm not saying that my oppinion is the right one or that my preferences are the best. The the fact is that at the end, the PS4 version (darker, less spectacular lighthning effect, that blurry effect) may be favored by some and not by others. That's a personnal oppinion and it is definitly not everybody who see it your way (or my way).

At the end, the disucssion is about preferences and not to what version is the best or not. Or even if IGN used crappy capture device to capture PS4 footage...
When you speak about framerate, resolution etc... It is the not the point of the thread, at all...

Thank for sharing your oppinion anyway.

I do not see the difference with the compression over the two sources of video to be honnest and I believe that the compression on IGN cannot really alter only one side of the screen (like only blurring the PS4 right side and not the Xbox One left side). To me there is a real differences between the two (not that huge).

Regarding the MP (PS4) vs SP (X1) I do not really take the time to compare it but it looks like you definitely find the PS4 MP better looking, I will have to take the time to look at this in detail to make my own oppinion but for now I take yours :)

I think that there is definitely a difference in lightning/contrast (like DCOK) said and the which then come back to personnal taste.

Fair enough :)

I have a 900p monitor, and even I can see the difference!

Not really. Didn't even watch the videos. Comparisons like this are practically pointless.

I was watching this video and I'm glad to see that the resolution difference does not show up...

Things I noticed :

- The textures looks better on the Xbox One (at least in my oppinion).
- The lightning and reflection are better on the Xbox One (the underwater scene in the car is a good exemple).
- Finally the PS4 version seems to be bluried in some way.

Based on my personnal taste, I'm very glad the Xbox One version looks better :)

Everyone : What's your opppinion (based on your personnal oppinion), please do not bash and try to be objective for a change...

PS: If a mod can move this to the Gaming category :( I'm so used to post in MS forums that I forgot to select the right one.

I agree, I seen the same things, blur on the ps4 better lighting and texture on the xbox 1. that is what I take from the video. I prefer this video over the other one posted because this one had constant frame changes inbetween consoles and side by side view. so It is far easier to compare from it.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

The eurogamer videos really show just how far ahead the PS4 version is. Everything is much clearer regardless of TV settings. Lighting is much more true, and there is a massive reduction in jaggies. Explosions, debris, dust, any effect is much more detailed and fuller on the PS4 version with XBO completely missing effects in some cases.

The massively compressed videos do not do these comparisons any justice. Also viewing any of these vidoes on a 15" laptop screen does not give a very accurate portrayal no matter the video quality. Viewing on a 110" projector shows a very noticeable difference between PS3 which I have played, the XBO version and PS4 the clear winner. The same holds true on my 52" LCD as well.

As always, very constructive post eThomaz with a lot of good exemples to support your point...
Please tell me where in the IGN head to head video you can see that? I would love to talk about it.

Ethomaz, please bear with me a moment:

- BF4 is technically better on PS4 Than XOne because 900p > 720p, framerates are better and PS4 is cheaper, hell even the developers said the PS4 controller is better than XOne's.

- PS4 BF4 on motion looks better than XOne's. (every reviewers said it, even DF implicitely said that the version to have was PS4's)

- MP on PS4 looks better than SP on XOne.

Here almost everybody agrees with you on those facts. Now we measured each others appendices and clearly saw which one (of consoles) was the most powerfull can we calmly talk objectively, without passion about a fact that is troubling some of us? (and particularly me as you can see I spam this forum with it! I want answers!).

BF4 on PS4 is anormaly blurry compared to ALL the others versions. That is now a fact. A lot of people noticed it, here, on neogaf, beyond3D, the guys at Digital foundry, some comments on IGN's video and Jackfrags, some of these guys are pro-XOne (as our OP apparently), some are not, some are in the middle.

The aformentioned IGN video showed just what ALL others footage already showed us in the first place and what Digital Foundy said first. Now we can now clearly see that BF4 on PS4 is on average as blurry as on PS3 and sometimes more blurry than the old PS3. It is an anomaly not explained by upscaling (because PS3 is upscaling too), not MLAA because MLAA just touch edge and not textures, not FXAA because FXAA doesn't blur so much already soft textures. It doesn't. And also becaue FXAA is also applied on XOne without removing details on textures.

The sharpening effect DOES NOT add details on XOne, if you compare closely with PC, you'll see that XOne have as much details in the textures than the 1080p PC just that the details on XOne are more contrasted, but the amount is the same.

But look closely at that comparison shot and why it seems that the 900p version of BF4 is more blurry and appars less detailed than a 600P-ish version? Yes the PS4 is at the right!

Now if you watch closely all previous footage and comparisons between PS4 and all the others ports, you'll see a "soft blur" everywhere on every image or videos of BF4 on PS4. this artificial blur unfortunately remove details and is clearly visible on screenshots and low-res videos. That is a big problem to face for PS4 with the perception of this game, and more generally of the PS4.
