No, their is no compelling reason for YOU to get it, this is a completely subjective matter, where having these abilities is a preference for me, but apparently not for you. I prefer it as a consumer that Kinect is mandatory since it means my experience will be enriched when developers know every gamer also has Kinect. Once more, it may not be your preference, but that doesn´t lesser the value I see in it, does it?

Yes, X1 will sell in lesser amounts than PS4, just as Genesis sold in lesser amounts than SNES, yet those that owned only a Genesis were probably happier with it than the SNES. You are focusing way too much on sales as a reference for a succesful console. For me, sales has always been extremely unimportant since it doesn´t say anything about the quality of a console, just what most people prefer. Taste is subjective you know.

And ofcourse you can´t use the Kinect, it is not even compatible with PS4 :).


Its not weak, its doesnt need to overload the system with power to realize the move is the perfect marriage for the PS Eye so you can actually play your  games properly and not play on rails or just dance. Kinect will forever be minigames/rails until they realize they need a camera tracking device to help move the camera. It can be as powerful as it wants to be. Where Sony is truly lost is the games for it. Theres no comparing both pieces of tech when it comes to games...Kinect is definitely less able than the Eye + Move combo.

Agree woth everything you said. Sony really has not supported move with games.....

What is strange about my statement?  must emphasize that english is not my first language. What I meant was that I bought a Genesis since I thought it was a better console in terms of games, while other people bought the SNES because they thought it was the better console for games. The fact that SNES sold more than Genesis doesn´t mean that the Genesis was a worse product than SNES, just that it appealed to fewer people than those that chose SNES.

This is why console pre-orders doesn´t say anything about how appreciated X1 will be for those that actually buys it, it only says that as a product, PS4 at the moment appeals to more people in general than X1 does.

When did I say it was weak? It is in a lot of ways another type of peripheral than Kinect and they do alot things differently from each other. Kinect is perfect for some types of games, and not others and I have gotten alot of enjoyment out of it. With the new generation I will probably use Kinect equally with games as with movies, music, navigation and as an IR blaster so we are talking about quite different products, where I prefer Kinect and other PSEYE. That doesn´t mean that one product is objectively worse than the other, does it?

Its the same thing as the Kinect, just less powerful yet more capable and intuitive than the Kinect in gaming. This is the very reason Sony turned down the Kinect tech. Sony could use it control media but they just wont (hopefully they surprise us but again they are leaving the choice up to you to buy it). They just want to focus on controlling games properly, yet their problem with game development outside of the main console persists.
