Xbox One version is missing some special effects, textures, and shadows.... It also has very bad Aliasing, while PS4 aliasing looks as good as the PC version.

Notice the Xbox Version is missing the clouds in the background and the guys sleeve is missing the camoflauge texture.

hot damn!

I'd have to say I'm pretty disappointed in both. There's no way the PS4 version is as good as PC like the one article says, its not capable of 1080p in this game while all PC's will be running it.

I was really hoping both Xbox One and PS4 would make the step into full 1080p consoles, but it appears even with 2160p (4k) on the horizon that we STILL won't be getting 1080p out of our consoles.

Unfortunately for people that enjoy the NHL series from EA such as myself, it means by next year if I want the new game I'm going to have to choose one over the other, and so far the PS4 seems to have that edge, which I'm really surprised Microsoft would even let happen, maybe fearing they would be too close to Windows machines.

That or its the same thing that happened last gen with 360 and PS3 when some games looks better on each system, but I've yet to see a game look and be quite as smooth as Infamous or some of the other games I've played on PS3, but who knows what exactly is being pushed through the system on exclusives.

I really like my 360 most of this gen, and I'm still playing it more than my PC and PS3 but I'd have to say I might have to consider a PS4 first this time around, but I know i'll even end up with a Wii U at some point because of Zelda so its really going to come down to what I want first and what system NHL plays and looks best on. Chances are tho most companies are going to make them almost unnoticeably different until you freeze frame.

I had the same feeling yesterday at BGS... the leap was not like I expected... a lot of games looks like PS360 yet... I will do my impressions soon for all games... even Killzone: Shadow Fall or Ryse are not that leap over Killzone 3 and GoW III... to be a little fair I played old build the same showed at Gamescom, PAX, Eurogamer, etc.

Weird that X1 version would look better when PS4 is suppose to be so much more powerful.
Also have to LOL at the missing bits of the article and people trying to play down the X1 advantage as areas the PS4 leads are the only ones that matter.

Are you expecting a $400 machine to compete with a rig equipped with AMD Radeon 7990? PS4 version is almost identical to pc version according to gametrailers.com. Here is the link.

PS4 version looks a bit better overall, though it's interesting how the Xbox version has better textures in some cases. Also, some of the differences will go unnoticed by most players because they'll be too busy fighting for their digital lives to see that the power line half a mile away doesn't look all that great. This kind of stuff is more noticeable in screenshots than in the heat of gameplay, especially if you aren't actively looking for defects while you're playing.

Frame rate performance looked pretty good on both platforms; again, PS4 maybe has a slight edge overall, though there were a couple occasions where the Xbox version was holding up a little better.

I expect the image differences won't make a big difference outside of forums like VGC and GAF. The Xbox version manages to keep it close enough that the mainstream audience won't be bothered by its shortcomings. Besides, most people will just buy the version they want and won't bother with the other, and they won't be looking for graphical flaws, they will just be looking to have fun.

"All in all, we can only give a preliminary outline of how Battlefield 4 will run on next-gen consoles, but there's plenty here that should remain the case for the final release in November. Perhaps the biggest takeaway is that, in this near-finalised state, the PS4 offers a superior experience on several fronts. The resolution is higher at 1600x900, as compared to the tried and tested 1280x720 on Xbox One, suffering as it does for more visible aliasing artefacts. Visually, the PS4 has a marked advantage with ambient occlusion effects too, which simply isn't matched on Microsoft's platform with the build we played."

Pushing 50 pecent more pixels, better performance, Xbone missing effects, and with a lower res.

How did you come to said conclusion?

Yeah, it would have been weird if X1 was better. Good thing thats not the case

Most important thing to take out of this (for me) is the higher, more stable framerate. That, coupled with the higher resolution will make a bigger difference during gameplay that you can see just by looking at screenshots.

Same way they trick people into buying certain TV's at say Best Buy.

TV with 60 refresh rate looks better than TV with 240 refresh rate because the white look better on this screen lol
