Vgchartz bans people for calling someone fanboy which i agree with.  People are called fanboy to put them down and in many cases people are called fanboy for dumb reasons like them liking Killzone more than halo or something dumb like that as an example.

So instead VGC users have opted out into calling people biased instead which is the same thing.  Why doesnt moderators start making judgement calls on people being called biased as well since it is being used as a synonym for fanboy by this point anyways.

First off there is no reason to be calling someone biased any ways as you cant really prove it.  And secondly shouldnt people rely on having a rational discussion rather than saying someon is biased just because they dont agree with them?

I imagine if you think about it hard enough, you'll realize that the reason why "biased" is allowed but "fanboy" isn't is because of connotation.

The word "bias" has a relatively neutral connotation. The word "fanboy" is quite negative and makes more assumptions than the word "bias" does.

You basically described the state of the world in general. Nobody wants to have "direct" visual reference of anything wrong but none can deny it. So they want it to disappear from their eyesight. But that doesnt meant its removed. Actually people are just hiding the curse instead of removing it. Removing curse means removing ourselves. In the end we all are infected. :p :p

Depends on how you say it which is why i said make a judgement call.  It is pretty obvious when somebody is using the word bias as a synonym to fanboy but because people can get away with it they do as you can with many rules right now.  

The truth is, people who want to get around the rule book can do so easily.  VGC creates a smarter version of a troll

Everyone is biased. No one is truly neutral. Fanboy however is a particularly fanatical and one eyed sort of bias. So to call someone biases is merely stating a fact, though contextually it might be more or less accurate. Calling someone a fanboy is pretty much always insulting and flamebait.

In this post particularly he resorts into calling someone biased simply because he didnt believe the way he did.  Was it really called for?  Was there any reason to say that?  What did it establish?  And can he prove what he said?

Like the word fanboy, if you use it in the right context it is allowed.

So then they could ban people just because they do not like them while allowing the people they do like to use it whenever they want. Sounds pretty biased to me.

Technically most rules are judgement calls right now.  So couldn't they already do that?

In fact some users actually have mod protection right now like Rol for example.

I dont get what you are saying from that at all. I think you just dont like what he has to say and want him punished for not believing as you do.

You are acting just like he is, yet he only used the word bias to describe someone who either wasnt around or has selective memory.

You however just want to ban them so they cant post.

Seems you should be the one banned honestly as you dont even think any opinion that varies from your own should be allowed.

Yeah and I really think that needs to change. I say someone is acting childish I get banned. Another user says I am stupid and nothing happens to them except I get banned for replying to them in the same manner they didnt get banned for.

Then I got banned the other day because some people called me biased and I stated my opinion without insulting anyone or any company. I was banned but then unbanned. I just came to the site and was logged out but when I logged in I didnt get the banned message. Then another time I got banned for saying I thought Nintendo had a better E3 and the mod called it extreme trolling with no basis in reality. Like to them it was impossible for Sony to not win E3 and anyone that thought differently had no right to post here cause they were trolling.

I think we need set rules and a group of people to review any bans made by mods to see if there is actually any merit. A citizens review board so to speak.
