Forums - Politics - Europe or USA where would you live?

Where would you prefer to born?

USA 116 32.22%

Europe 244 67.78%

Total:360

Well, there are very great countries to live in: Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland. But if you have only the choice between US and Europe, I clearly would choose Europe (this keeps the option to get Switzerland). Not that I think Europe is that great, but the US is worse: high crime-rate, exceptional bad social security-system, basically the worst overall health-system for a developed nation. Not a great choice to live in.

Lol, if I was rich I wouldn't move to switzerland.
I'd choose for Monaco.

If you rich, you can live fine in every country.

Europe 100%
Once i live in europe I could just easily move to whatever country i wanted to. I would hate to live somewhere like texas

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

The only reason to change for Europe would be if you were already born in some crappy US state... and really, that's only to take the roulette shot of not being born in one of the shittier EU countries.

There are more good US states then EU countries by a long shot.

The thing about the US Is, the average state is actually really awesome.  It's just held back by a few other states.

Example...

http://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2013/10/report-american-education-isnt-mediocre-its-deeply-unequal/280827/

Look at US math dominance vs coutnries like Finland, Norway and the like... for most states... while the rest eh... REALLY drag It down.

Why is sweden so poor at math.

Whats wrong with texas?

I'd go for Europe, despite the risk of being born in some developing nation. Once I'm in Europe I can move to any country anyway.

Life is so good and comfortable in most of Europe.

What is it about the USA that causes you to select Europe?  Most people in the USA have comfortable life.  The GDP per capita is higher that most EU countries, so on average you are likely to be wealthier in the USA.  Or is it for other reasons?

The social security is very good and reassuring in Europe, so for example when there was no income in my household (I come from a working class background), we got about $1000 dollars a month until we sorted things out. We also got an apartment for $300 a month from the local government. Now we have good jobs and had to return that through taxes, but it was nice having that and being able to move forward.

Do you mean 1,000 a week?  Or Euros? Because 1,300 dollars in benefits isn't really a lot, even in the context fo the US system.

That's 15,600 for a whole year.

Meanwhile...

No u cant live everywere good when rich. In germany u even with money have hard time to get good tea or sushi

In us u get everything with money, u live like utopia with money.

Also switzerland seems to have better products, but maybe thats just my personal taste

Yeh sure, but in some countries it's 'harder' than in others.
And like I said, if I was rich and could afford it I'd move to Monaco. 0% tax on everything. Only an immense entry fee

damntastic sounds nice, 0 tax is awesome. I think singapore also ofters decent living, i think if you have 1 millionr, or was it 3 you can get citizenship i think i read
