bet with ash3336 he wins if Super Mario 3D World sells less than Mario Sunshine during the first three years, I win if 3D World outsells Sunshine's first 3 years. Loser get sig controlled for 3 months (punishment might change)

Do you doubt the WiiU? Do you believe that it won't match the GC?

Then come and accept this bet

I dislike Capcom very much, it's like they enjoy self mutilation.

Well, they destroyed RE. It isn't near the glorious REmake anymore.

Althought, I need to catch up in the Ace Attorney series.

I think something like a merger with konami would be more likely than them going under. They would be bought before that aswell.

That Monster Hunter alone makes them a hugely atractive aquisition for Nintendo or Sony.

Personally, i would like to see nintendo buy SEGA and Sony buying Capcom. But Nintendo doesnt seem interested in buying anyone despite having money and Sony just doesnt have money to buy anyone.

I'm going to ignore everybody explaining how unlikely this is to happen and have some fun making a list.

  • Ace Attorney - Level 5 - With the Layton series winding down, maybe they can put some of that point and click adventure talent into Layton's semi-rival series. Plus, I trust these guys with story-telling, and important part of Ace Attorney games.
  • Dead Rising - Deep Silver - Dead Rising is a crazy game where you kill zombies with everything. So why not give it to the Saint's Row team? The zombie-slaying insanity would be... I almost said "to die for."
  • Devil May Cry - Let it die. There are already a few similar series hanging around, and basically every studio that seems like a good fit is already working on something else, or at least should be (Bayonetta, God of War, etc.) If I had to give it to anybody, it'd be Square Enix. Why? Play the Battle of 1000 Heartless in Kingdom Hearts 2 and then ask me again.
  • Mega Man - Inti Creates - They developed the very good Mega Man Zero games, not to mention entries number 9 and 10. Plus, they're working with Inafune on The Mighty No. 9... meaning crossover oppurtunities!
  • Monster Hunter - Whoever got this series would become a major player in Japan overnight. I lack the heart to give it to a console maker, so how about Konami? Say what you want about Konami, they make games with great bosses.
  • Resident Evil - Grasshopper - This one was hard, because Resident Evil is a mixture of horror, action, cheeseiness, awesomely bad acting, and monsters. This is the only studio I can think of offhand that could combine those elements.
  • Street Fighter - Namco Bandai already has enough fighting games. Warner Bros's Mortal Kombat games are too different. Nintendo is best sticking to Smash Bros. So, either Sony or Microsoft.

Sega Sammy 528 Million 208 Million 2.63
Square-Enix 1.98 Billion .79 Billion

EA 5.07 Billion 2.8 Billion

Sony 155 Billion

While your analysis is correct, you aren't showing a Quick Ratio from what I can tell unless your column headings are incorrect.   You've shown Assets to Liabiliities which isn't the same.  The QR is more concerned with liquidity so removes non-liquid items like plant etc.     The calculation is here:  http://www.investopedia.com/terms/q/quickratio.asp

yeah my mistake. I just did Total Assets/Total Liabilities which was wrong. It should have been (Current Assets-Inventory)/Current liabilities for quick ratio. Which ofcourse being different numbers changes it altogether,  and capcom does have a bit of issue in that aspect comparatively. All of which are unrelated to the other numbers.

I made the table a bit quick and made some mistakes. I edited them, if anyone wants to look and check or correct. I'm not expert.

Not a great idea because fans would have little faith in exclusive releases being good. For example, many of Sony's 1st party exclusives flopped for being average or medicore. Being an exclusive doesn't guarantee great sales.

In my opinion, Enslaved was a great game. If Sony locked that as a 1st party exclusive, I think it would have sold much better than it did.

"Fans would have little faith in exclusive releases being good."? I'll quote you on that. Pretty sure fans are obsessive with 1st party games and mostly claim they are awesome even before being out. But you say that and then mention my point straight after, while I don't mean 1st party as in a specific company published or developed, I mean a 3rd Party exclusive.

Lets look at Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall, both 3rd Party exclusive games for the X1 (or MS machines for the latter) and with that comes not only Capcom advertising their wares, MS will mention it at conferences, fans of that console will no doubt buy it (early on especially as there is nothing else to play). Then for Titanfall (an EA game) you have MS sending out emails saying 'ONLY NEXT GEN CONSOLE TO HAVE TITANFALL' and all that jazz.

Of course for Dead Rising 3 it less of a good case as it's not an unknown title that needs decent sales, it would have sold over a million anyway and MS money hatting just kept it on their console. While new titles, like Enslave, like Remember Me and like Titanfall get the extra boost of advertising and 'hype' they need to at least allow the development team to succeed and stay in business to produce more titles, not nessecarily exclusive, in the future.

I read your post but I don't know how to approach it.

I neither agree or disagree because I'm not sure what your points are.

Capcom has so many great franchises. I don't think they're in as much trouble as people think but I do hope things get better for them. I don't care who makes Dragon's Dogma but I need that franchise to live!

I also liked Bionic Commando.

Resident Evil - Silent Hill/Siren creator Keiichiro Toyama, so Sony.
Street Fighter - Namco or Arc System Works.
Rival Schools - Namco or Arc System Works.
Final Fight - Namco.  Final Fight style that plays like Urban Reign.  Or Sega.  A western themed Yakuza game.
Breath of Fire - Atlus, Konami, Sony, or dare I say it, Squaresoft.
Devil May Cry - Ninja Theory.  Ninja Theory DmC > Kamiya DMC.
God Hand - In my opinion, the best and only non overrated game Platinum Games has developed.  Give it to them so they can develop a sequel.
Dragon's Dogma - Team Ico or FromSoftware.
