I sold my PSOne, because the controller sucked compared to the N64 controller.
Fast forward to 2013 and the controller for the Playstation has not evolve much. The sticks are still badly placed, that is what kills it for me.

Once you played a FPS on the Xbox 360, there is no return.

Wait... you're saying the sticks on the Dual Shock controllers are badly placed and mention your preference for the N64 contoller?

I went through dozens of N64 controllers Those things broke faster than the average walkthrough of Super Mario 64.
The point is that the stick for the N64 was ALWAYS the main input. The games were created FOR this stick and the stick was well placed on the controller as the main input option.

Sony saw that Nintendo had something there and copied it to implement it later. If this reminds you of the PS Move or the rumble pack, it might be by accident. They placed the sticks not as the main input option, that was still the dpad. The games were not designed for those sticks only and neither was the controller.

The analog sticks felt better on the PS1 than the N64, but the placement was bad and the software was not specifically made for it. And even today the thumbsticks are not well placed on the PS4 controller.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Strange. I always felt the N64 stick was very badly placed. The position my hands had when holding the controller to have access to the stick was cramped and uncomfortable. That's one of the reason why I could never finish OoT on the N64, as I despised the controller (for the stick itself as well).

With the Dual Shock, my thumbs fall just at the right spot on the sticks.

The 360 controller's left stick is also problematic for me when I play for an extended period of time. The part of my palm closest to my thumb gets sore after a short while because I have to force my thumb into a position that isn't natural to it.

Now, since I'm on the subject of the 360 controller, people telling me that the 360 controller is best for FPS have me frowning wtf style. In a FPS game, both sticks are used about as much as the other. One to walk, the other to look around and aim. But because the stick to walk is at a supposedly "better" spot than on the DS controllers, it's better?  Half of it is still supposed to feel unnatural... No? ¬_¬

But I guess half more natural is still better to some than the alternative... Whatever.

I saw that shitty video when he first made it. I knew you'd come up with that as it's the only one you could possibly use to try and sell your bs. It's a parody of youtube comments about the xbone right after e3 as he explains in the description.

here he defends mandatory kinect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsFUgnT6D4w&app=desktop

here he defends the xbone right after the reveal when everyone was shitting on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul2PD48hIfc&app=desktop

I've watched this guys videos for years and he's always been pro xbox.

I don't care what anybody likes or dislikes or thinks is better. I'm just commenting on this because your bullshit annoys me.

Wow, you really make this personal, but sweetie let me help you with your research.  He has lots of anti Microsoft Anti Xbox One rants:

What you're both illustrating with these links is that unlike most people here, he's not wearing tinted glasses andgives criticism where it's due (to him, of course).

Am I the only one who doesnt like either of the new controllers?

I have not put my hands on either and will most likely change my mind when I do, but I cannot be the only one.

They could have kept the exact same designs and changed just a few things to make me happy (Xbox..I really hated the Analog Sticks. Not where they were but they just didnt feel right to me. Also that terrible Dpad. The PS3..Those were some terrible triggers and the Analog sticks needed a redesign like they got).

PS4 controller (six axis, light bar, speaker, touch pad etc) and PS Vita's lots of options (rear touch, gyro control etc) reminds me of these type of wierd controllers which doesnt exist. They put whatever they could put in the controller. It seems sony degineers were confused what to do.

Plus I like Xbox One using is using rechargeable battery. It is pain to use batteries but we can use battery packs. My 3 year old dualshock 3 went out of order because of battery. It is possible to change it but there are a lot of hassale associated with it.

Still I am going to get PS4 because of their games. But I wish Sony used just a normal controller instead of putting so many thins in the controller. Xbox One controller is probably the best controller of this gen.

Lol... What?

What did Sony put into the PS4 controller that have say they put, and I quote: "so many thins" in it?

Wait... It has a track pad... and the select and start buttons now have different names... What else? It includes move functionalities? Barely any different than the DS3 except for the lightbar... The rest of the button layout is the same as it's ever been. So yeah... The controller is now SOOO much more complex to use than the older Dual Shocks... ¬_¬

You are entitled to express your opinion and same goes for me also. You put some interesting points.

But in defense of my points I want to say "more" functionalities doesnt mean better. Six axis was an "added" option in dualshock 3 but looks at games like 'heavenly sword" or "lair". They had horrible controls.

Heavenly sword was awesome with controlling arrows. You left out games that did it right. Like warhawk and starhawk or wipe out. More recently GTA5, I use the motion sensor to reload, and it's pretty sweet. Then there’s the little games like flower and flow and journey. Next gen it's being used to lean in COD and BF. There are good uses for sixaxis and there’s bad. But I’m glad they added it as it brings some nice things we wouldn't have otherwise. And now that it's in vita, wiiu and 3ds it should see more love in the coming gen.

Whichever controller feels more comfortable to me is the one where I'm getting ALL my multi-plats on, the other will be solely exclusives. This gen it was 360, but it could go either way for this upcoming gen.

Good to know the DS4 improved drastically (according to the reviewer.)
I do prefer the asymmetrical design of the thumbsticks on the X1 over the DS4 though.

I haven't tried the new PS4 one yet, but I can tell you they changed the Dpad on the Xbox One, and the new sticks have a rubberized gripping edge.  They are also a tiny bit lighter to push, and have absolutely no play or jiggle to them.

Not sure if you will like it better though.  It is really familiar to the current one.

Will be curious when you get to try them out.  Which one(s) do you actually like?

Tell me a funny joke!

I never understood Xbox gamers who praised the 360 controller as the best, are now claiming the One controller is perfect. From the reviews I've read/watched, they have made some things worse. At least it would be worse if Xbox guys actually believe in the things they praised the 360 controller for.

It has been designed slightly smaller for smaller hands, something Xbox gamers complained about the DS3. MS themselves have said the analogs now require 25% less force to move them, so they probably feel more like the DS3 analog sticks in the regard. Again, something Xbox gamers didn't like about the DS3. It also seems they have put the bumpers and triggers against each other, so it's harder to distinguish them from one another. I also keep hearing that the bumpers are a tad uncomfortable to hit.

It's kind of funny to hear them praise the new rumble triggers, while completely ignoring the vastly improved rumble in the DS4. Apparently, it has several different rumble motors inside, so they can simulate a dozen tiny robots in the controller or even make you think there is liquid in the controller. Something tells me they can focus those rumble motors to create a sensation similar to rumble triggers.
