do i need that camera to play gta/call of duty? in what way does that benifit me playing those games, its doesnt, it isnt needed, its a perhiperal, if i was into games that involved a camera, or i wanted to skypre, then sure id need it and then go buy the perhiperal (optionally).....but I dont want/need it, so why do i have to purchase the console at a higer price because they want me to have it, its not a nessecity

What logic is that?

Do you need Wii Nunchuck to play or Wii U tablet to play Mass Effect 3, Batman, etc etc. If I wanted to play touch or wave gaming Id have bought it for my Wii/ Wii U seperately.

See the logic here?

A peripheral is an after thought idea which is an add on.

Xbox One is as it is. Kinect 2.0 is not an add on and not a peripheral.

Xbox One is not Xbox 360 or PS3.

If you can unplug it put it in a draw and never have to use it ever its a peripheral.

if my girlfriend decides to buy a family fun orientated game, then she can buy a camera for the ps4.

Not if you unplug your peripheral PS4 and put it in the draw. What crazy logic do you guys use to allow yourselves to prove Microsoft will do a Kinectless SKU?

So far its good news for Microsoft.

400% more preorders than Xbox 360. And now unavailable till January 6th in UK. Phase 4 only available now.

The real test for both of them is post launch window plus I don't think people are going to be too happy about that price tag and what's more is that the majority will not immediately be jumping pretty soon.


Well what worries me is theres not enough Xbox's One's. Preorders are flying. 2 months after launch for none to be available is pretty worrting. If they had more maybe there would be more orders. Lots of places stopped preorders for ages due to no stock.

I do accept it. Thats not what this is about. Its about PS fans saying Microsoft will admit defeat and do a Kinectless Sku. Thats not going to happen. Theres 5 chips built into the GPU that are purely for Kinect. My point is, people keep saying Kinect camera can go. But that isnt all that Kinect is.

Its like talking to children.

Not really, there are noe an extra (nearly) 80 million blu-rays in peoples home, this also helped the blu-ray vs HD-dvd war, and now other companies (micorsoft) are using the same tech, I don't see how that failed

outside of America i think its pretty much failed...as what deals for Tv do they have in the EU? in all those different countries?

What microsoft should be more worried about is the fact that they still don't understand the mass market yet.

ahh right, well i havnt said that, ive just been saying i dont and will never buy it because it would be pointless to me paying extra for someting i wont use... I think the reason a lot of ps fans want a kinectless SKU is because like myself, I would get one if it didnt come with the camera

EXACTLY and its not just PS fans, drop the camera drop the price and sales will increase, the price to entry is very high for a games console. Its the only reason im waiting.

Kinectless Sku withing 24 months Guaranteed!  Probably during 2015, could be as early as Xmas 2014 if sales are not as high as they want to be.

I like how the PS4 is the PS3.5 because it doesn't have Kinect : )

Microsoft is basically saying once you try it you'll like it. Like telling someone they'll like Frog Legs or Rat Ass Pie if they just give them a chance.

I also laugh when people say Microsoft is thinking long term because of Kinect

While I do admire Microsoft for setting themselves apart from Sony, Kinect will never be anything other then a gimmick

Exactly this, microsoft is thinking of the "consumer" but not the normal consumer that was from the origional xbox and 360, they just want the success that the Wii had.....and its not going to work

I would buy an XBone if it didn't have Kinect. I personally don't find the camera to be worth $100-$150 of my money.

Some might, others won't.
