They already said the system will get 3 more years on the market. Although i don't think it will be supported like the PS3 will. It's a trademark of Microsoft's.

Yeah I think the consoles might be overtracked a little bit. I guess we have to wait on their quarterly reports which is within weeks for both.

I think ps3 kicked some serious ass and still kicking it! considernig how awful it started and i think it has a good chance reaching 90 or 95m lifetime maybe even 100m if we're lucky.

I was [half] joking with you.  And bolded above.  All corps are "greedy" by gamers standards.  That includes Sony!  and Nintendo! (VC I'm looking at you)

So the joke, was, we are "taking" the games market from greedy Microsoft and giving it to... who?  Sony?  Nintendo?  Valve?  APPLE?  pick your poison dude.  These companies sell entertainment, the polar opposite of necessity, so expect to bend over.

You main find all greedy, but thats not exactly the case. Greedy isnt giving your customer free internet service, free games with a sub program or selling your games on disc support. Theres making a business from game entertainment and then theres doing everything you can to forcibly nickle and dime the customer. With Microsoft we got on-disc DLC, paid online, online passes, network passes, day one-DLC, etc.

No, i dont want to take anything back. The market would be better off without Microsoft. We would be great with just Sony and Nintendo.

And this comes from someone who bought both an Xbox and a X360. I regret having supported them in light of what they brought to the industry. Its a mistake i will be sure to not repeat in the future.

Very telling that despite all that, Playstation is still ahead. Next gen should be a fun reminder of Playstation's console dominance


We will look back at this gen, in 5 years time. PS3 will come on top with 105-110 million units sold. And PS4 dominating next gen. Next gen will indeed be a fun reminder of Playstation console dominance.

By this gen I meant the upcoming gen, should have been more specific.

I'm not sure where you're going with this PS2 talk. When people say they are surprised PS3 outsold the 360 since it had "such a bad start", why on Earth would they be comparing it to PS2? Not only are the two entirely irrelevant from one another, but again, the 360 had an even worse started compared to PS2.

Now, if PS3 were to pass PS2, then your "compared to PS2" theory would apply and make actual sense.

Again, what are you talking about? None is this is relevant to the post you quoted of mine. When people are saying they are surprised the PS3 outsold the 360 since it had such a "bad start" supposedly, they are not comparing it to the PS2. Why? Because the 360 did even worse than the PS2.

Did the PS3 start worse than the PS2? Yes. Did the 360 start worse than PS2? Yes. But who cares. Did the PS3 start better than the 360? Yes. That's all that matters in this discussion.
