You main find all greedy, but thats not exactly the case. Greedy isnt giving your customer free internet service, free games with a sub program or selling your games on disc support. Theres making a business from game entertainment and then theres doing everything you can to forcibly nickle and dime the customer. With Microsoft we got on-disc DLC, paid online, online passes, network passes, day one-DLC, etc.

No, i dont want to take anything back. The market would be better off without Microsoft. We would be great with just Sony and Nintendo.

And this comes from someone who bought both an Xbox and a X360. I regret having supported them in light of what they brought to the industry. Its a mistake i will be sure to not repeat in the future.

I don't find any of the companies GREEDY, that why I put the word in quotes.  They are simply trying to stay competitive and maximize profits while doing so.  CEO, etc. can be greedy with bonuses etc., corporations, with boards of directors, are run with numbers in mind at all times.  I'll try and tackle this piece by piece.

Why is Sony charging for internet with PS4?  Because they can and they realize that servers aren't free.  They are trying to make profit, just like they saw Microsoft doing.

Why is Microsoft offering free games with gold.  Because Sony does and they are trying to remain competitive.  Sony initially did it to ENTICE gamers TO their subscription program.  They knew that Microsoft had a better online setup early, so they had to offer other value to get people to sign up for paid online.  Again, they were trying to funnel customer into this paid service to maximize their profits.

Microsoft reversed the DRM policies due to Sony not having them, and people complaining like crazy about the Xbox One.   They did this to remain competitive.

WHY DOESN'T SONY EMBRACE SD CARDS??  Why do I have to buy THIER format, which is much more expensive.  Talk about nickel and diming.  There are other examples like this with Sony.  Used to sell their own projection technology, not DLP.  Pushed Bluray, not HD DVD. Etc.   Some work for them, others don't.  Again, trying to maximize their profit and get people locked in.  Actually, Blu ray is a big reason why Sony wasn't pushing DLC sooner.  DLC does not require a disc medium.

Are you really blaming DLC on Microsoft?  Seriously?  No one is forcing publishers to have DLC.

Finally, you can thank competition (from MIcrosoft, Sony, and Nintendo) for the market being where it is today.  Without the 360, the PS4 would not exist as you know it now... you very well might be looking at a $600 PS4, etc. as an example.

Look.  I encourage you to vote with your wallet.  Its what keeps companies "honest" so to speak.   Again, back to my point on competition.

So?

So this is a sales site.....Wassup?

Remembering all those times were I read comments on who the Ps3 would never pass the 360 :P

I also remember the ones who said it would easily beat the 360, it wasn't easy though and I didnt expect it to outsell the 360 until the end of 2014.

no longer world wide does the 360 win during the holidays world wide,as i believe the ps3 beat it last year if you factor in the very last week of dec 26-31st where it cleans up real good ww,at worst it was a draw... i epect the ps3 to win ww this year pretty easily

This console generation will be summed up with amazing comebacks (PS3), unexpected/expected leaders (Wii/DS) and counted out underdogs making successful gains (360/PSP).

Yep. I think that after this year the 360 will nose dive. Microsoft may just can it all together to focus on the X1. Remember what happened with the Xbox? Sony seems to like glory and will keep the PS3 going for another decade.

What happened with Xbox spurge? Why don't you go educate yourself on that, majority of people on gaming forums already know but why am I surprised you don't.

360 has put up a pretty good fight considering it hasn't had an official price cut since 2008 (crazy!) wheras Sony has had 3!

Usually catches up with each yearly CoD, but curious to see what happens this year with the next gen version pre-order numbers doing so well.

Considering it used to cost $599 it could have 10 price cuts before it caught up to the 360s price :^)

Lets see... i agree with staying competitive. I dont agree with charging for the servers that microsoft had. They are dirty cheap. Sony doesnt embrace SD cards cause in case you missed it, hackers raped the hell out of the PSP towards irrelevancy. Yes, Microsoft is to blame for DLC practices because they bundled their system with a Hard drive first. This now allows for games to be released unfinished and grant us the joy of day 1 patches.

I also agree that Sony was arrogant and deserved the lesson they learned. The problem here is, i dont think Micorosft is capable of learning, they are too arrogant for that. We can tell by the sucessive mistakes they make with windows for example. We can tell that they will bring back the DRM further down the line of the X1 with most cetainty, but most of all the disdain with wich they treat customers with. Sony never went that far. They only took their sucess for granted, they didnt treat their customers like idiots.
