"Killzone: Shadowfail"

LOL, way to go pal. That just turned the entire joke on you.

Unfortunately even using your logic it did not. 360 did exactly that. It was less powerful, although the average graphics were pretty much the same AND it was cheaper and older so people would expect PS3 to have better graphics, so 360 won. Now it's different. Xbone may even have comparable graphics, but it's more expensive so people would expect better graphics, so it loses this fight, miserably.

After all these years, you still belive the 360 is less powerful?

I thought that that eventually became the general concensus that PS3 was more powerful. At least it showed in terms of AAA exclusives. Even an Xbox fan can't deny that titles like Killzone 3, God of War: A, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 3, and TLoU were second to none on the console front. Especially the last 2.  It doesn't really matter, obviously; especially at this point where even the best looking console titles look outdated. It's not to say that 360 somehow sucked because it was somewhat less powerful; it still has some fantastic and gorgeous looking games, so who cares?

As for the OP, this post really makes zero sense. You claim that XBone and PS4 are the same, yet XBone somehow wins? I mean, let's be realistic for a second. XBone really hasn't shown much that looks that much better than current gen. You can't tell me that the particle effects and level of detail in Killzone, Knack, inFAMOUS, Driveclub and Deep Down havn't completely blown your mind, all of which are running 1080p and 60 FPS. With the recent downgrade (and yes it was a downgrade) in Ryse, the game doesn't look that much better than God of War: A. Killer Instinct looks alright, but once again, not much better than what we've seen on 7 year old hardware. Excellent particle effects, but not much more. Forza 5 kindof loses it's beauty when it's not running on a PC. I mean I can keep going, but let's be realistic for a second. Launch titles are all going to seem relatively on par between the systems, but once Sony's main first party makes it to the fight, it's pretty going to be endgame. The hardware is more powerful, and they're going to know how to use it. We already know this.

KZ's multiplayer is the only one of those running at 60fps.

I'll wait for the lensoftruth/digital foundry tests between multiplats.

That said, just like phones, computers and most digital things - its the services and OS that make the greatest difference in the eyes of the consumer.

What good would a more powerful PC be without access to Steam? Sure you could run Origin, Desura - buy games from GoG and GreenMan - but most people would prefer to run Steam.

Ditto Apple. With exactly the same specs, would the iPhone 5s sell as well without iOS/itunes store?

I believe MS will have the better, more tightly integrated OS/online experience/connectivity between games/apps.

But that's just my belief.

The proof, as they say - is in the pudding - and that's gonna be cooking for 8 more weeks or so....

Of course. Nothing beats Dead Rising 3 in graphics.

I'm going to assume you missed the Infamous gameplay at E3?

SP was confirmed to be running at 60 FPS too. Driveclub is already running at 30 + FPS, and evolution is working on it to run 60 by release. inFamous SS was running 60 FPS. Deep Down is 60 FPS. I'm pretty sure Knack is 60 FPS, and even if it isn't, it's still native 1080p like the rest of the games I listed. Everything on XBone so far is only 720p, and lucky to be running 30 FPS without any hiccups.

So almost tieing is now the same as winning?

PS3 won the graphics war despite a small gap in performance, and PS4 is looking to have a larger lead, on a cheaper system. Most casual gamers won't see a difference in graphics, but when people keep saying "more powerful for less money" they will likely take notice.

So far nothing on either system looks amazing, give it time for a proper AAA exclusive to release to show the difference.

No, Guerilla even said they were intentionally keeping it at 30fps to increase visual fidelity. working on 60 fps is not the same as 60fps.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-hands-on-with-playstation-4

Infamous is at a locked 30fps and Knack was dipping BELOW 30 fps.

Forza 5 and DR3 are 1080p, and Ryse is 900p. You should stop making things up.

How do you know the size of the gap?

Have you play both versions of a game? Are you a developer? Have you heard a developer saying "50% more resoluiton or 50% more FPS"?

Sorry I have to point to you. But that is the mind share of people at internet foruns. They are so poisened against anything Microsoft says and does that a simple racional statement "Wait for the games" is treated as a offence.

It´s beyond my mind to understand why people belive so blindly in a graphical discrepancy. And even it there are it would be noticeable to any normal human.

And you do no such thing? Don't you represent a counter argument? I hope you see it.

Both perspectives have invalid proofs, but one is based on false premise. I won't put it together for you, as it has been done so by others many times before.
