One thing I noticed, was that EAD Tokyo is implementing some FXAA. I could only imagine how it would have looked if it was an aliased mess like Mario Kart 8. O_o

As far as the console games are concerned, at least, I have never thought that NSMB looked "bland" at all. The Wii game was very good looking, honestly, and the Wii U game was certainly an appropriate step into HD. This game looks a lot "flashier", most definately. But I reject the notion that the NSMB games don't have good graphics.

Do keep in mind that the footage we saw of Mario Kart (gorgeous and impressive as it was), was likely VERY early footage. People seem to forget that every time they see a game trailer, that it's always going to look more polished in the final build.

I know they'll polish it up, but 3D World had some FXAA since it was announced. MK8 had almost nothing. It would be nice to see it, but I doubt they'll add much more than post-process.

I hope the soundtrack is at least somewhere close to Galaxy, and that there isn´t anything that sounds like that very annoying 'bwah bwah' music from NSMBU.
