Define "Gimped."

Well, for me that would constitute a product that is inferior in quality - such as poor framerate and omitted items - when compared to other versions (current gen especially) or if they'll exclude things available on the other versions such as DLC (which has occured with other Wii U games such as NFS and the upcoming Batman game which will not have MP available - at least at launch). Most Wii U owners have been complaining about inferior ports over the past few months. In general, they didn't seem to mind the delay with respect to NFS since it was superior in many ways (albeit it had its drawbacks as well). I think that notion will hold with AC4 as well.

However some people seem to think that publisher's are "Gimping" the Wii U version out of laziness. This is not true, and there are very real reasons some things are not in Wii U versions. Examples:
-Why would publishers sell DLC on Wii U when most people have no built in storage? It costs money to make and most can't buy it!
-Again, not having a standard HDD makes installing games unfeasable and as such performance suffers due to slow texture streaming.
-Maybe Batman should have MP on Wii U, but then again Nintendos online infrastructure is a generation behind even the PS360. It is not as simple as "Putting in MP." With such a small online community, it probably wasn't worth the money.

1. That may be an issue, but Wii U does play well with external storage solutions. Perhaps if someone would actually take the shot for once, we can find out if it's truly worth the investment for publishers.
2. I completely agree. It's much harder to port a game that requires a mandatory install on other platforms, versus a game like Need For Speed: Most Wanted, which didn't and turned out well on Wii U. Some will chalk that up to laziness and not putting in the effort to ensure performance, but it really isn't a problem that can be resolved simply. Especially if the Wii U version is supposed to be relased alongside the other versions (Splinter Cell is an example).
3. From what I can gather, that was more of a developmental resource issue. The MP isn't being developed by WB Montreal, the main developer who already has Wii U experience by porting Arkham City (which is why I have hopes for the Wii U version yet). Instead it's being handled by a different studio that probably couldn't get the job done in a timely, feasible manner.
