Let me just start by saying that in general, the Wii U should have all of the same in-game content the current gen versions have. This is true and just plain stupid when it happens to any game on any platform.
However some people seem to think that publisher's are "Gimping" the Wii U version out of laziness. This is not true, and there are very real reasons some things are not in Wii U versions. Examples: -Why would publishers sell DLC on Wii U when most people have no built in storage? It costs money to make and most can't buy it! -Again, not having a standard HDD makes installing games unfeasable and as such performance suffers due to slow texture streaming. -Maybe Batman should have MP on Wii U, but then again Nintendos online infrastructure is a generation behind even the PS360. It is not as simple as "Putting in MP." With such a small online community, it probably wasn't worth the money.
Xbox Arcade/4GB owners shouldn't complain about not being able to play GTA V without buying an HDD, and Darks Souls players on PS3 shouldn't complain about no cross-game voice chat with their friends. All systems have their weaknesses. Sometimes there is no solution because a machine just isn't as capable as you think it should be, and you just have to live with what you bought... |
In most cases I am in agreement. But some of the Nintendo faithful won't see it in those terms and use it as an excuse to not make a purchase. The missing HDD was a bad decision in my view, and I constanly tell my friends who are Nintendo enthusiasts about this. However, I do think they could have added the online componenet in Batman - irrespective of the community size (they'll get there eventually .. though Nintendo is not very encouraging in this regard at the moment). The funny thing is I have a feeling if these things were included, they'd still sell poorly on the platform (just a hunch).
Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS
