My point was Killzone:SF has no justifiable reason to be 50GB, with is true. The fact Crysis 3 can pull off SF level graphics for a third the data proves my point. I'm sure file sizes will get bigger, but PC games will be pulling off much better graphics than the PS4/Xbone for a lot less than 50GB.

My point is do you know what have inside Killzone: SF to support this claim?

Get the Crysis 3 example on PC.

14GB

How many voice acting it have? Little comparede with any Killzone game... LPCM 7.1 support? No... Localization? No.

Just added LPCM support and you will have 3GB+ for each language avaiable in the game.

So we need first to know what Killzone: SF have inside to justify the 50GB.

Remember console is not PC where you release HD texture packs, Audio packs, etc... console is unified experience without need to deal with instalations and related.

Do you know what's all inside it so 50GB is justified? Let's wait for the game to be released.

Did you just call the PC version of Crysis 3 last gen?

The last 2 crysys games were basic ports from the consoles with just higher res textures and effects.

Yet they still managed to pull off graphics on the level of SF :P if we include the better AA, resolution and frame rates available for PC games it could be argued it's quite a step ahead. (i do think SF is a better looking game, but because of it's art direction not it's technical achievements).

What horse crap, amount of data has nothing to do with how pretty a game is. Maybe crysis 3 is only a few hours long in all the same type of enviroments, where as KZ is 10+ hours long in many differnt locations. I dont know i havent played either.

But ill take massive downloads if it means diversity in locations and lots of details over a single city with repeated buildings.

I don't have the game but every content makes a game bigger. Every. Again, ethomaz, 50GB *is* off. No matter what nowadays games use (and waste). Just look at PC, there you already have textures we as console gamers will never see and there are no games with 50GB.

Again... if you render all the game you will have a world bigger than GTAV with less than 1GB (way less)... no... not every content makes a game bigger.

The Sims 3 complete have over 60GB on PC.
World of Warcraft with all expansions have 35GB on PC.
Age of Conan is 22GB download on Steam.
The Force Unleashed is 30GB download on Steam.

I can give you more example... people here are generalizing without knowing what make the game big.

Oh please ethomaz, talking about bad comparisons... The Sims 3 complete, yes. Talking about content. We are discussing a single game for PS4 here, an fps. And yes, every content makes a game bigger, even if it's a few bytes. You can't argue that. But I see, you won't discuss the 50 GB, you only use smoke granades. And don't say who in this thread knows what and adds to size while you are no programmer yourself. This is *very* thin ice for you.

I give example of stand alone games too on Steam lol

Now your content just added few bytes when you are discussing GB lol.

Overall, this is ridiculous. There is no way that this game needs this huge amount of data, in my opinion and it's just a waste of disksize. I hope they don't have nearly uncompressed videos again to fill up the disc.

I hope they do. I hate compressed videos on my blu-ray discs

The funny thing is that you don't see good compression. And the codecs are available.

So you prefer MP3 over FLAC for example? I'm talkin here about ~300GB for each 1 hour of music/voice record with a extreme demanding (in terms of CPU) compreension codec... for 5.1 or 7.1 you can added ~1GB for each 1 hour.

And the good compressions codes takes CPU resources... nobody will use FLAC in games because they are demanding even for descompress.

A good example?

FFXIII with shitty video on 360... even so 3 discs lol.

Pezus wrote video, you understood audio. Congrats.

lol you are wrong... the same basic principles for video and audio codecs here... change what I said for I don't know h.264 and MPEG-2... uses a MPEG-2 video with resource less or a h.264 to use all your CPU resources.

What do you mean? Games like Crysis 2 had very compressed videos, also most console-to-PC ports. It's simply unbearable and shameful, at least in this case when the console supports 50GB games.

I mean you can save size by compression and don't have a big quality hit. Especially I don't know why we use video in general nowadays. Engines are capable enough, in my opinion.
