Forums - Gaming - Only one X1 game running at 1080p?

I was hoping 1080p would be the new standard, TBH. I hope most PS4 games stick to 1080p.

I have a 75" screen (HD projector) so it makes a huge difference to me.

Thank god the human eye only sees 30

So DC-devs aiming for nothing... And so is KZ.

Read my response.

Didn't change anything.

how so? you aim for 60 because te hnically the game will be better when there's a lot happening. it'll still be over 30 fps.  however if you can handle large scenes without slowdown then having the safety buffer of 60 FP's is irrelevant. capiche?

I have a pretty lenghty article from a German magazine debunking this sitting around somewhere...but personally can't tell 30fps and 60fps apart either

The human eye can definitely see up to something like 240fps, but only blips.
However, consistent appreciation of 60fps is largely irrelevant, and is only relevant as a barometer of how SLOW the fps will get.

IE: 60 fps is good because at slowdown, then it's still likely producing over 30, meaning it's hard to tell slowdown is occuring.
However, a game that runs consistently at 30fps is fine. Most movies run at 24fps, as does tv.

The human eye doesn't even see in framerates, making the whole thing entirely pointless.
Besides, people can and do see the difference between 60fps and 120fps on a 120/144hz panel.

Dumb thread..... If higher resolution truely means better graphics, everyone should cancel there XB1 and ps4 pre-orders and get a Wii U. Wii U does have more 1080P games after all:).

Won't really be a standard in that sense. Simply put, a console has finite resources. It can render (hypothetical numbers):

480P = 10,000,000,000 polys/triangles

720P = 1,000,000,000 polys/triangles

1080P =100,000,000 polys/traingles

Lighting, shading, particals, fps ect eat up resources as well. PS4 could have twice as much power as it does, doesn't mean every game would be 1080P. They may spend resources on other things.

X1 has the only AAA 60fps/1080p with good graphics which is forza
ryse will be 1080p it was confirmed by crytek

so you're just gonna ignore forzas environments and aa problem? and ryse has no shot at 1080p native imo,,,

I'd rather have a game locked at a solid 30 fps than have it fluctuating  between 30-60. It's more distracting then asset/texture popin IMHO.

Use this, and tell me if 60fps doesn't look better. Mess with motion blur and the like.

I'm not sure how Resogun can be compared to the likes of AAA retail titles. Might as well throw in Lococycle and Crimson Dragon that both run at 1080P@60fps.
