Forums - Nintendo - Buying a Wii this week (Sony fan)

No, not the Wii U. I'm actually buying the original wii this week from this girl on craigslist. Only $60 and she's guaranteed to it me. No games or controllers but that'll come in time. Reason I'm finally getting one is because there are a lot of games I never got to play. Don't start with me on brawl (at least 1000 hours logged into that game with friends). I can't play that anymore or I'll get addicted again lol. So anybody wanna recommend me some games???

Im planning on immediatley getting galaxy 1/2, as well as LoZ TP and Skyward sword. Looking for "core" games. Sadly I'm not interested in wii fit or Mario kart :p

Should be a great experience and change up to my ps3 gaming for a bit. (Although ni no Kuni is amazing right now)

i have no interest in the Wii U; as in my opinion the games just suck compared to what the ps3 and soon to be next gens offers me...

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

The Last Story, Xenoblade, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Madworld are some of the Wii's finest games.

Hmm, can you not get one cheaper than that at retail (with a game to boot)? I thought the RRP dropped to below $100 in the states?

Madworld, Red Steel 2, The Last Story, Metroid Prime Triology, Xenoblade Chronicles, Galaxies,, Punch Out, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Zeldas, New Play Control Pikmin would all be games I recommend.

Wait... why are you buying that? Once you buy a controller and nunchuck, you're at 120. The Wii retails brand new for 130 with Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Seems like a crap deal.

seems like a bad deal.

Better deal would just buy a Wii U wind waker bundle. Then buy like the Wii U Party game when it comes out. Then you'll have essentially a Wii, Wii U, controller, and two games. All for only $350.

(does Wii U WW bundle come with Nintendo land as well?)

Yeah, I think you need to give some thought to accessories, it might end up costing more than you think and you end up with a second-hand system and no warranty.

Basically a lot of first party Nintendo games.

Interested in Wii but not Wii U? I understand if it's an issue of cost, but it's not like Nintendo's studios suddenly changed overnight. Anyway JWeinCom has the right idea: get the bundle with Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk, plus Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Although those games might not be "core" enough for you, whatever the hell that means.

I would not bother buying one at all.
