I won't try to lecture you on your purchase decision, congrats on branching out - I recently did a similar (yet opposite) thing in that I bought a PS3 earlier this year after having a Wii all 7th Gen and having a Wii U now.
You say you plan to get Mario Galaxy 1/2 and Zelda TP, very nice choices and if you buy your games new those are all still in print and discounted by Nintendo (I think they're $19.99 or $29.99 not sure)
My personal top 5 recommendations would be:
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Xenoblade Chronicles
Zelda: Skyward Sword (it needs Wii Motion+ or the newer Wiimote+)
Battalion Wars 2
Monster Hunter Tri (although if you have a 3DS or plan to get a Wii U eventually the MH3U release is superior)
Keep in mind Smeags' Wii Recommendation thread on these forums: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=67101&page=1
Also if you do get a used Wii from early enough in the Wii's lifetime it should be backwards compatible with the Gamecube (although the more current ones are not) if you're lucky enough there you might want to explore the Gamecube's titles - as you are getting Zelda: TP I assume you didn't/don't have a Gamecube, of course if you do/did that's not applicable.
Hope you have fun! Also keep an open mind, the less 'core' games like the Wii series, Mario Kart, etc. might be worth maybe a rent (gamefly is useful for games you don't think you'll want to own but just want to try out) they can be a whole lot of fun.
