Forums - Nintendo - Buying a Wii this week (Sony fan)

tbh look for used WiiU consoles even if they are 150 (my second WiiU did cost 150) its worth it. I mean the controller alone is cool. And you will end up at 80 or so when buying a Wii controller for your Wii anyways. (because you need a nunchuck and wiimote)

Since WiiU can display Wii games with better visuals NO HD of course but being "all digital" makes the image ALOT sharper and cleaner compared to "digital source -> analog component cable -> digital TV."

The only reason to buy a Wii for me would be to play old GameCube games but this only works with Wii's that still come with the stand.

$60 just for the console itself?

You can find a brand new Wii for $89 that also comes with all the wires and a Wiimote.

If you plan on getting Xenoblade then good luck finding that without a high price.

Sorry didn't specify but I got it with all cords needed, just no controlleres (bought separatley for $20) so I got a pretty good deal IMO. The console is worth way more than it goes for anyway.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

No, not the Wii U. I'm actually buying the original wii this week from this girl on craigslist. Only $60 and she's guaranteed to it me. No games or controllers but that'll come in time. Reason I'm finally getting one is because there are a lot of games I never got to play. Don't start with me on brawl (at least 1000 hours logged into that game with friends). I can't play that anymore or I'll get addicted again lol. So anybody wanna recommend me some games???

Im planning on immediatley getting galaxy 1/2, as well as LoZ TP and Skyward sword. Looking for "core" games. Sadly I'm not interested in wii fit or Mario kart :p

Should be a great experience and change up to my ps3 gaming for a bit. (Although ni no Kuni is amazing right now)

i have no interest in the Wii U; as in my opinion the games just suck compared to what the ps3 and soon to be next gens offers me...

Congrats on your new console!

I enjoyed the Ravin' Rabbids games, and if you like arcade shooting you might like 'House of the Dead: Overkill."

Plus, if you want a relaxing game, Endless Ocean: Blue World.  I gave it many, many hours.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I forgot to ask, is yours the original Wii that has GC backwards compatibility?

I guess getting a Wii this late in the game is good, I'm not gonna go into that further.  But, I would reccomend reconsidering buying this Wii off of Craigslist, since you can get a used Wii with a controller for $49 at Gamestop right now.  Other than that Pandora's Tower, The Last Story, Madworld, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Xenoblade, Zack and Wikki:Quest for Barbarro's Treasure and Little King's Story.  That's where I would start.  You know the Wii U plays Wii games... right?  And instead of buying an old console that would once again require an updgrade to a new console why not get a Wii U, then get all the Wii games you have missed out on to tide you over until your desired games come out for the Wii U?  Just saying.
