Forums - Gaming - DREAMCAST 2 controller and console appeared in new SEGA's game! (LOL!)

Would you buy Dreamcast 2 when it comes out?

yes, at launch 131 60.37%

yes, later 49 22.58%

not interested 37 17.05%

Total:217

I'm sure the Dreamcast was a good console but as far as I'm concerned I wouldn't be interested in the slightest.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

Looks more like a portable than a controller, but none the less anything with dreamcast on it is a sure win

Except for the...uh....Dreamcast.  J/K still have mine and it's awesome.  Loved it more than my PS2 during the short time it was alive.

That controller looks pretty sweet.  Funny thing is the Dreamcast controller was so far ahead of its time.  It had the analog triggers, VMU screen, microphone accessory.  With some Sega innovative craziness, a Dreamcast 2 done right would be such a fun console if it came out today.  The original made me, a staunch Nintendo lover, a fan of Sega.

Well, that would be a day one for me, Sega is the greatest game developer I as a gamer have experienced. Their ability as a console manufacturer was greater as a software-only company since they allowed themselves to take more risks. They need a big company like MS behind them, make a new console under a Sega/MS brand and start taking risks again. Then we would see the industry evolving again.

Not M$, they need Samsung to do it.  Huge electronics background.

Without Sammy butting in, it would be a day one purchase for me aswell.

Unfortunely thats a dream long gone. All the good talent left SEGA long ago, even if they are laying wasted somewhere cause SEGA/Sammy doesnt want to pay them. Yu suzuki beeing the most daring one, Yuji Naka beeing wasted on Prope, his studio that doesnt do anything of note.
Yeah i know... they were paid in gold on the old SEGA, but... they were worth it. I wish those two were still on SEGA and were given the same creative fredom they had in the past.

IHMO no controller can beat the WTF factor of the STEAM controller when you see it first time

ps: so someone appreciated my joke? I read mostly about sad people talking about their happy past time about the Dreamcast    (of course you are right)

Persona 5 on PS3, I won't need next gen!

Someday I'll get a Dreamcast just for Shenmue, and I know I won't regret it.

I've just been delaying it for years.

a friend of mine got a dreamcast. we played the shit out of shenmue and taxi driver. i think i'd buy a dreamcast 2 for the fun, but it would fail soooo hard and everybody knows it.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

Dreamcast price today?

Nono, Sega never had any problem in the hardware part, they lacked the funding and the ability to know what hardware to bet on. The hardware in itself was always very well built. MS bet on them with the Dreamcast and Sega should have let them had their chance, instead they went software (however this allowed MS to produce the true succesor to Dreamcast, the original XBox).
