Forums - General Discussion - America is ungrateful...

According to the UN, between 15-20% of the US is in poverty. That equates to about 50-60 millions people.

Name all 43 presidents I think I could not even name 10 lol.

That article is just so wrong and stupid for so many reasons. As if the current infrastructure in America had anything to do with the political scenario that has been played for almost 8 years now. Soldiers dying to defend the freedom of other americans? in Afghanistan? In Iraq? Because you invade other countries to defend the freedom of 300+ million people over 10 000 kilometers away? This article, and its author, fail big time.

Oh, and this article suggests that everything that Bush did, was actually thought up by him......laughable.

Then don't make mis-informed claims. if you want to say "Bush is the worst president in last 30 years"....

Say that, don't make claims you have no idea about.

or at least have the balls to admit you're wrong for once.

>Name all 43 presidents I think I could not even name 10 lol.

and you can openly claim Bush is the worst? Base on what?

Ignorace is bliss, don't take it literally

Leno didn't say this. These e-mail forwards always attach a celebrity's byline to make people think "Ooh, well if a famous person says so, it mst be tre."

It took me all of 1 second to figure out that the original post is bullshit propaganda nonsense by some George W. Bush supporter trying to gloss over incompetence (at the time it was written to guilt people into not getting angry over how the Hurricane Katrina disaster was being handled).

Here's proof that the original letter in the first post in this thread is a fake:

Legend, FTW!

George W. Bush like all other politicians is merely a puppet. Huge corporations tell him what to say.

> H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and they might even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

With USA's lack of free health care, that would cost the person an arm and a leg, pardon the pun.

I don't buy this argument, sorry. Yes, we have a high standard of living compared to other countries. Does that mean we can't be upset that the Bush Administration is making things harder on us? Absolutely not! The American dream is about not being satisfied with what's good enough, but to try to make things better. Of course we should be thankful for what we have, but that doesn't mean we should sit contently and be happy when our leaders are taking us in the wrong direction.

As far as the troops -- that argument sounds exactly like the "if you don't support the war (or the administration), you don't support the troops" argument, which is completely wrong. Am I thankful that they "died for my freedom?" No, because they didn't need to. I'm angry that our troops are dying in a war that we should never have had to fight.

No it does not, you have every right to be upset with the Bush Administration. I myself am unhappy with much that they have done. However, I don't think that they are nearly as bad as so many people make them out to be.

Just out of curiosity, who here supports the war in Afghanistan?
