Yeah now that you mention it does sound silly how these other guys give sony the flack for not releasing in japan early but instead they excuse microsoft for not trying to capitalize also because they don't want microsoft to reach a wider audience in japan.

Occam's Razor would suggest that the Japanese buy other systems over an Xbox because those other systems have far and away more Japanese games. It's really as simple as that. For comparison's sake, imagine how the PS3 would have done in the west if most western games were only on the Xbox. Yes, Microsoft buys a few exclusives here and there but that's a drop in the bucket.

The fact is, the Japanese have had little reason to buy an Xbox, not unless they'd tried Halo or Gears somewhere and really, really liked it, or they had enough disposable income (and space) to buy another console for some of the niche exclusives.

If you look at it logically, it's impossible to blame Japanese consumers for making the most sensible choice.

Still, I know some people are just bitter and are looking for some place to direct their negative feelings. If that's the case, carry on.

It really is the most logical choice for the Japanese to buy home products. Microsoft has dont absolutely nothing to show them they are any different from Sony. They shares essentially the same library, so of course the home product is going to get more love.

So they just plan to buy the console with the announced games that impress them and just leave it like that then? Or in case of seeing games that you might get interested through their lifespawns, buy both consoles?

 

It's way more surprising the people that say "neither" instead of the people that chooses only one console.

I'm surprised that after attending Tokio Game Show, you say you won't be purchasing any console. Maybe when they asked the question, they were refering to the release date, but through the years you don't think in spending money into a console?

While it is sad, most people do not purchase multiple consoles. Especially considering how similar offerings between PS4 and X1 are.

That's what I am getting at xD Don't say "neither" then, say something like "X console, but in a few years or so".

And of course people will decide which console they will buy based on games they haven't even heard about??? People usually decides based on what they can see at the moment...
