It's way more surprising the people that say "neither" instead of the people that chooses only one console.

Why is it surprising that some won't buy either? Not everyone buys consoles, some buy WII's etc.

I'm surprised that after attending Tokio Game Show, you say you won't be purchasing any console. Maybe when they asked the question, they were refering to the release date, but through the years you don't think in spending money into a console?

The Tokyo gamshow has all kinds of different games for various platforms, not just Playstation/Xbox, they could be looking at those. Also they may be happy with their PS3 and not want to get a new device until it stops being supported, and only then think of getting a next gen.
