it won't be huge,. the downloadable only status pretty much guarantees that. nintendo should have a full retail release with all the content too.

...but i've got to say, i (as a consumer) like the per sport download and day pass options. i would totally go for that over a full retail but nintendo needs the full retail presence if they want to reach casuals.

I agree. It's a good offer, but I don't think it's going to sell a whole lot of Wii Us. Personally, I'm just glad this signals continued support for the wiimote.

The day pass is pretty interesting. It's a shot across the bow of all rental services.

They really want people to buy HDDs :D

Which is good for Nintendo's revenue but also bad since they miss out on a lot of casual folks, who don't know that they can setup an external HDD to it or simply just won't do it for other reasons.

Nah, games like this could probably fit within 100MB. Simple graphics, zero FMV, limited audio. Even basic set owners could enjoy these.

What can t they make it both retail and digital- If they could bundle a retail version for Christmas, I think it would move some Wii U's- It s hard to tell how many consoles it is going to move via pure digital distribution.

If it is $10.00 per sport how, how many sports do they plan to have over the next 3 or 4 months?

Is the digital model targeted primarily to sell software to existing and future wii u onwers more so than to move consoles?

So now I'm suppose to be excited because they are porting a 7 year old game to WiiU?

I don't get it either.

Needs retail to be more serious.
Though my guess is this is a test run. The game is digital only for a few months before it goes full retail in Marchish

It's just that simple.

they could have at least improved the lighting engine so it looked more on par with mario kart 8 and wind waker hd settings light wise...

I predict a retail copy by end of summer 2014 with 6 total sports.

Nobod needs to buy ALL 5 games ¬¬

Is a smart move, I think and a test. And I except a retail release in March

Could yeah, but they're all stand alone so each sport would need to duplicate audio, textures etc. and the texture resolution could be increased (but maybe just upscaled).
Wii Sports was about 750MB as far as I can see.

I can see this becoming an ongoing series. It's full Motion+ so they could add fencing, etc from Sports Resort, then add all new games, all for $10 each. It's potentially golden, as long as they can get initial buy in. They need a bundle or retail package to kickstart it though. Wii U was made for this sort of app-style download gaming.

This could potentially alienate potential consumers who don't have Internet in their house (that does still happen in this day and age)...
Nintendo has done an okay job of promoting digital merchandise in stores like GameStop by selling redeemable codes, but I definitely agree that a retail option might not be a bad idea...
Games goes for Pokemon Rble U...
A Pokemon game that utilizes toys could have really turned heads, especially at such a low price...
The process of "saving" the Wii U could have already been well under way...

Have a nice day...
