Forums - Microsoft - Forza 5 Preview: Absolutely stunning visuals put Drive Club's graphics in the shade

"To ensure maximum authenticity, the environment has been laser-scanned and meticulously recreated at 1080p and 60fps. In comparison, the PS4 exclusive Drive Club looked remarkably last-gen - with muddy textures and the demo riddled with environmental 'pop up'."

LOL, this is an obvious fanboy opinion.
last gen ? he wish XD

It's the last and ony piece he's written on DriveclubLooking through the articles hes written I don't even see him mention Gamescom.

I'm surprised you would even try to defend this. Is it purely because it's what you want to hear?

thats that then... he cant possibly have seen it since.

I'm NOT surprised you would want to attack this. Is it purely becase it's NOT want you want to hear?

No you're wrong. I don't care if Driveclub has PS1 graphics and a host of technical issues if it is well documented. Accepting this article as a reasonable source of information or a "nice independent view" as you put it, when under scrutiny there appears to be some problems, however, is an issue.

The article has a flamebaiting headline from an online tabloid accused of link baiting practices in the past (first warning sign). The analysis is going against the grain (2nd warning sign taking into account the first) it's missing information (I posted the previous article for review and comparison) the article was published with a mistake in the headline (published as drivers club)  then there's the possibilty, taking into account the previous work, that the analysis in the article is as skewed as the article itself.

Do you not see a problem, or question any of the above?

Beyond that, you only have to look at recent videos of Driveclub to see that there's something either amiss with other journalists take on the game and the visuals shown in the videos, or with this article. I'm going to go with the latter.

This is very true. He read it and said, F that I'm going to twist it to what I want to hear.

I've presented my reasoning for posting the previous article and my stance on the original. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't make assumptions and accusations without actually questioning a poster first.

It's not hard to outclass Drive Club, game looks like a turd most importantly in the gameplay department but surprisingly the graphics department as well considering it's only running at 30 frames per second. Every video I see makes me wonder why I would ever buy it over a cheaper current gen NFS title. It's no wonder they are launching the game for free to all PS+ users.

Forza 5 on the other hand looks phenomenal. A better comparison would be GT6 or GT7 on PS4, but I am afraid we might be on Forza Horizon 3 by then.

I think your blind or a biased fanboy. Which is it?

Here is a link to Drive Club HD video from Gamescom even though this is a 1-2 month old build. It should show you how far it has come and what to expect from the finished game. No pre baked lighting here!

Expected, anyone who thought/think DriveClub will be any where near Forza 5 level is....... well I don't want to say without being disrespectful but I know there are people on this site who actually believe DriveClub will be this great game.

Why have you got a time machine? Have you been to the future and played the finished game? Or are you making guesses on the E3 build?

You'll come to realise soon enough that Drive Club is doing more than Forza 5 with real time lighting, weather and day and night cycle

Wouldn't really compare Drive Club and Forza to be honest, they are trying to achieve different things. I'll wait for Gran Turismo on the PS4 to make the appropriate comparisons.

Lets be honest... you'll probably need to compare that with Forza6

Since Turn10 is under contract to release a Forza game every two years I see Forza 6 comming out before any GT game on the PS4 unless it gets a GT Prolouge.

Polphony Digital struggled with coding to the PS3 hence the massive delays to GT5. GT6 has come a lot quicker than GT5 and looks far more polished. But its obvious the PS3 and its split ram has made life very difficult for them. With the ease of development on PS4 and the raw power i expect a much faster turnaround and a return to form for PD and the next gen GT!

Is that you ethomaz?

I am pleased that this dispute has been settled now once and for all by a well respected newspaper known for it's expertise in gaming as well as it's technological insights.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
