It'll obviously be added to the other Vita sales. As far as sales go I think it all depends on how it's advertised. If they say stuff like "you'll never need to move the console and can play PS4 wherever you go with Wifi" then it's a game changer.

Considering that with the Vita you can turn your PS3 on and play games wherever you want through wifi with remote play, why wouldn't you be able to do remote play wherever else you're at with the PS Vita TV? It has an ethernet cable to connect to the internet after all. Maybe wireless but I didn't look too much into the specs, though I'd assume so if you can play the PS4 remotely when it's in a different room.
I think VGC should combine Vita and Vita.tv, just as it should combine 3DS and 2DS.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I see no real difference as it's the exact same console, minus a little bit of compatibility in features. Retail games are still playable on it and it still accepts Vita memory cards. I think it should be tracked along with Vita sales. |
no real difference? There is a huge difference. (not saying to exclude ps vita tv with vita) 2DS is a 3DS without 3D, same crap! PS Vita TV is no PS Vita, in fct its more like a PS Home Console. Only reason why its called PSV in my opinion is to add both sale #s together to make Vita not sound bad anymore. It could of been called PS TV and nobody would of thought it was a vita, just a good device that lets you stream classic/psp/psv games!!!!!

I don't know. It's weird. I mean --

-- the Vita TV is not a handheld console. Would it really make sense to add it to the Vita's numbers?
The closest analogue I can think of is something like the GameBoy player. Of course, that was an accessory, while the Vita TV functions independently of other devices.
And people comparing the Vita TV to the 2DS need to stop. No 3DS games are rendered entirely unplayable on the 2DS, as is the case with Vita games on Vita TV. The 3D could be turned off on the 3DS, while the fact that the Vita is a handheld console could not be "turned off." Being a handheld console is not a feature. It's the definition of the product. The 3DS is a handheld console that has a 3D function, not a 3D console that happens to be portable.

3DS=2DS... PSV~PSV TV isn't the same though, i mean PSV TV is something much much more. It only has Vita in its name and thats why people think it should be combined. Are thy gonna combine its sales with psp? You say no, they ask why not? or PS1 games? Just saying, its not a handheld anymore, its a great support device for any home

Yes. No real difference. Other than the limitations that the PS Vita TV has of not being able to use touch screen, back touch, or the camera functionality, and the games that require those features, the PS Vita TV will be able to do and play anything that the Vita can. It's an at home version of the PS Vita.
Also, you're saying it's not a Vita and referencing how it's not portable. When did Vita mean portable? It's a portable console sure, but there's nothing in the name Vita which implies that it's portable. If the Vita didn't exist, the PS4's code name could have been called the Vita instead of the Orbis.

if thats the case you might as well add Wii Sales With GCN or WiiU with Wii Sales am I right? If 2DS was called Something else it still be a 3DS SKU. I guarantee if PSV TV was called PS Everything or PS Stream or watever u want, people wouldn't call it a Vita SKU. But I guess I cant argue, imo i think sony added that name so it can cover for PSV sales... Thats just me which is a smart move

no clue about that. it's no handheld anymore so it would be weird to count it as handheld. it's like a portable home console playing handheld games.
but counting it as whole new product would be also weird since it only plays games other sony devices already do.
