between this and dead rising 3 i think playstation fans got the far better exclusive.

I keep seeing/hearing this. What's so wrong with DR3? Maybe I'm being biased since I cherish that series, but more and more are saying it looks "meh", to a degree, and I'm trying to understand why.

I don't know about other people, but I think the gameplay to them sucks.  The controls are loose arcade style so you just run through, jump kick zombies down or kill zombies in different ways.  You have your baseball bat type weapons(pipe, laser sword, etc,) your throwing weapons, some weapons that kill zombies in a unique way.  You can get a car or on a tricycle and run zombies over, but it's all just very boring.

The single player game really has no substance.  Basically.  Dead Rising is a GTA style open worldness to it without a good game added to it.  If you're not interested in screwing around, you're pretty much going to be bored because the main game is ass.

The third game could be better, but my opinion on the other two, and this game being in the same series, I really have no interest whatsoever.

Based on what?! Really, what did you actually see in the videos so far? Console wars and their laws...

The two bolded words are key. Seems you take issue with opinions a lot, lately, especially if they favor Sony. ;)

Now post-hunting? Come on, CGI, what's going on?

I am wondering how anyone can even have an opinion now based on what we saw which is close to nothing gameplay-wise. Seems you take some anti-hype comments too negatively, as do many who favor Sony. Btw, I pre-ordered PS4 and not Xboe, just saying...

Fast forward to 6:00...fuck, it´s ManBearPig!

Great, you pre-ordered something you bash a lot. Cool beans

Anyway, the irony of your continued implications of "fanboyism" is that I didn't defend Deep Down, I defended DR3, but when you have an agenda, it clouds what's in front fo you. Totally understandable. ;)

I don't bash the PS4 - show me where I do. Also we are discussing on what kitler said, I couldn't care less about what you think or defend.

Looks fun, not the sprawling RPG I was hoping for but still nice... Graphics took a fair hit from the demo.

That demo was never supposed to be an actual representation of the final product. We didn't saw it running, in real-time, on PS4. This is what they should have shown from the beginning, which is still very good, very next gen.

Yeah.  I bashed the original Deep Down demo video because Capcom was trying to pass it on as actual gameplay footage when, as usual, just another developer adding a HUD to a video and saying it's gameplay.

Square Enix did this with the original Final Fantasy 13 cutscenes when back in 2006 they had the combat UI added to it.

Gameplay looks nice though.  Capcom's version of Demon's Souls.

I knew the gameplay wasn't real, but I thought that was the games engine running in real time on the ps4 with scripted animation and camera etc

And what Kitler said was totally fine. ;)

Sure it is. Still discussable.

Of course this is all opinion, but I found Dead Rising's series great games. The story is great, (though cheesy sometimes) gameplay is solid, killing soundtrack and relatively nice graphics (though sucky performance sometimes). You just talked about one of the things you can do, which is screwing around, but there's just more to it: getting to where you're supposed to go (in order to keep moving forward in the story), saving survivors (or killing them), changing clothes, mixing weapons (introduced in the second game), defeating bosses and discovering secret areas and scenes. The game gives a great value, but I can understand why some people can't stand the gameplay (zombies mess with you way too much since there are a lot in screen, which reduces the flow of the gameplay, and the timer). I, for example, are more hyped for DR3 than for Deep Down, and it's not a matter of because one is exclusive to the console I'll own, but just that I enjoy and love the series.

I actually thought parts of this live gameplay demo looked quite similar to what was shown at the PS event in Feb, especially the part with the dragon from multiple angles...

Other than that i could see it wasnt as spectacular or crisp...but still dam impressive.

I think Sony got the better deal between Dead Rising 3 and Deep Down simply because it has more potential to sell...If done right deep down can get the dark souls audience and possibly some of the Skyrim audience. Western RPG's are doing quite well these days.

Dead Rising on the hand is a known franchise with sales limitations. The one positive about a known franchise is that it is proven and fans can expect a certain level of quality whereas with deep down we dont really know. I mean dragons dogma looked really good at first...it turned out to be pretty average.

From a gaming point of view though it entirely depends on what genre you into.

Even though I have no interest in it because I didn't like the main game in the others, I can say one thing I do like about DR3 than what I've heard about Deep Down.  There's a single player game in DR3 while people have been saying Deep Down is online only.  If Deep Down is online similar to Demon's Souls where other people can jump in your game and attack you, then that's fine with me.  If it still remains a single player game with a unique multiplayer added to it, then that's cool.  I loved that about Demon's Souls.

I'm interested in The Division and Destiny, but I really don't want all games to end up pushing the online aspect as much as these games are.  Because even if these games are on disc, you'll lose about 50% of the game or more when noe one plays the online anymore.  Not too many people are going to be interested in Deep Down, so online only will just hold the game back.
