Also Apple are supposedly bringing out a cheap/cut down version of the iPhone 5.

Its the tech market realising that not everyone has ten billion dollars to spend on the latest gadgets.

A handheld becoming not a handheld is a bigger jump than a handheld losing an optional feature.

Tho that optional feature + new design = a $50 dollar drop.

And handheld becoming not a handheld + a streaming device = $100 dollar drop.

I really don't see the point in Vita TV.

I guess Sony never knew how to differentiate between a handheld gaming experience and a home console.

I on the other hand see a lot of point for the Vita TV.

You can stream videos in good quality to youtube for one, its portable so it can be hooked to every tv, and you can download all the games on it.
