Having never owned a Sony gaming machine, I just ordered a Playstation Vita!

I am a Sega/MS guy, never liked Nintendos games, and few Sony games have got be excited, besides Wipeout and God of War. But maybe it is time to expnad my gaming collection? So I would like your advice on games to get for the Vita. I am only interested in digital downloads, and will probaby get PS+. So, what games are really good on Playstation Vita? :)

PS+ is a good investment for Vita, although the selection pales in comparison to that on PS3.

Wipeout fan? Good man. Wipeout 2048 should be your first pick-up (available on PS+). It's a great, balanced, addictive racer with a really neat multiplayer mode.

Gravity Rush (also on PS+) is excellent also. A smart, funny, quirky action-adventure game with a very cool heroine.

All vita owners needs Gravity Rust anyways

Persona 4 the Golden (Get this game)

Little Big Planet vita (Who needs indies when you have this)

Killzone Mercenary (Best looking game on the handheld also plays really well)

Uncharted Golden Abyss (The best launch title)

Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention (If you want to lose over a hundred hours)

Also since this is your first Sony system take a look at the psone and psp game library lots at timeless classics.

If you want to get into Vita Gaming i'd say

start with

Little Deviants,it is a good game to show vita controls,nice collection of mini games,it is real fun and the price right now should be around 10-15.

Pixeljunk monsters(better than the ps3 version)
MGS HD
Rayman

One game you might like judging by your avatar would be Phantasy Star Online 2 if you don't mind it probably won't leave Japan, but it's on the system!

I recommend Gravity Rush(free with plus), Little Big Planet, Killzone Mercenary, Virtue's Last Reward, Rayman games vita versions were very good, Persona 4 Golden, the awesome BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend (there are also other good fighting games), Uncharted Golden Abyss (free with plus), Atelier series games (JRPG) came to vita and they must be new for you, since you like SEGA I've heard sonic all stars racing was a very good port. Wipeout 2048 on Vita is amazing!

PSP must have games playable on Vita: Dissidia FF,  Persona 3 Portable, The Legend of heroes games, Jeanne d'arc, Valkyria Chronicles 2, MGS:PW playable with two analog sticks....

I just didn't want to post every game but wanted to make a short list. I suggest you to search for the best deal out there for a SINGLE 32GB memory card, no less!

Consider Buying a Hand-grip (I use a HORI but sanded down sharp edges and glued for a medium long (and perfect for me) grips for longer game sessions, you will love that!

I guess we will wait together for PSO2 localization :'-(

PS: Never do gamesharing (like some people do on forums) because it is against the contract and is not nice having the account full of games DELETED. Sony is strict about that (and of course they are right).

Nice pic :). I am actually fond of most genres, but mostly action adventures/action rpgs, shooters (I think that gravity rush looks interesting), unique experiences that are harder to classify. The only genre that I never play is sports games (unless Kinect sports can be included, but that´s on XBox so :P).

Ah, the Phantasy Star games are awesome (although the Mega Drive originals are superior)! Is it only in japanese then? Well I played through Dracula X in japanese so that shoudn´t be a problem :).

Are the Ninja Gaiden games any good? I liked Ninja Gaiden Black back in the days (one of the best I have played) but the sequel was not to good.

Unit 13 is fun for short game sessions (TPS) the price should be now very good, Soul Sacrifice is a good action rpg but you really need to go into it to appreciate the battle system.
