I will definately get that one or the HORI (that word sounds kind of dirty in Swedish though :P)). My only worry will be getting used to the buttons, since I have always played with letters on the buttons (a,b,c or a,b,x,y). Time to learn something new i guess.

Don't worry, it is much easier to memorize the symbols than switching between the different a,b,x,y-setups of Microsoft and Nintendo. ;)

Congrats on you purchase! I'm sure you will love it as pretty much everyone who has one does :) 

The #1 thing I can recommend to you since you want to go digital is to just buy 32gb card, don't waste your money on a smaller card. Also if you plan to play a lot at home you should invest in some trigger grips. They aren't necessary but will make long playing sessions more comfortable. Now as for the games you should get, since you stated your open to most genres I'll just list all the games I own that I think are worth buying for each.

Racing

 

  • Wipeout 2048 (PS+)
  • Need for Speed: MW (must have for racing fans)
  • Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed (great kart racer)
  • Modnation Racers Roadtrip (lacks online but still a fun kart racer)

 

Platformer

 

  • LittleBigPlanet (MUST OWN)
  • Rayman Origins (PS+ in NA)
  • Rayman Legends (better than origins)
  • Sly Cooper Theives in Time
  • Jak and Daxter Collection (has some slowdown but still 100% playable and enjoyable)
Action/Adventure
  • Gravity Rush (PS+ MUST OWN)
  • Assassin's Creed III Liberation
  • Metal Gear Solid Collection
  • Soul Sacrifice (if you like the gameplay you will love the game, if you don't you'll find it repetitive)
  • Uncharted Golden Abyss (PS+ MUST OWN)
  • The Walking Dead (best version control-wise)
RPG
  • Persona 4 Golden (MUST OWN MUST OWN MUST OWN BUY THIS GAME)
  • Dragon's Crown (same as Soul Sacrifice if you like gameplay you'll love the game)
  • Muramasa Rebirth (2D hack n' slash with RPG elements, very fun)

Nah, abxy is the way to go for me, but I will get used to it in time :).

I forgot something:
-back of vita can be scratched easily (use kits with screen+back adhesive protections.
-when deleting a game, you DELETE also SAVEGAMES, back it up the save in PS Plus servers before (icon is at the top before launching that game)
-Forgot Oddworld: Stranger's wrath HD, it's very nice (you probably played this already in XBOX v1)
