Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft: We Don't See Anything Better than Ryse, Forza 5 on Competing Platforms

No, TW2 was not the same as what ran on PC, and it is more of a linear game. There are better looking games on Ps3 then tw2 360 version. PC version was bestly though.

No, no, you don't understand. All I'm pointing out is that the 360 is capable of running it. Of course is not the same game as the maximised version of PC (That would be neat! But impossible), but the port was possible. All I'm saying is that the 360 can run The Last of Us.

We'll yes, anything can run on anything, it is a matetr of scaling down the technical aspects to get it to run. What people mean when they say that is in it's exact form could it run it?

Some user above was wondering if the 360 was capable of running The Last of Us xD

Interesting point.  I wonder if the 360 version of TW2 is as demanding as the Last of Us or other PS3 exclusives?

Mmmm... now that's a good question. Let me come up with the best I have.

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/cDQbJ6oQznw?version=3&amp;hl=es_ES"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/cDQbJ6oQznw?version=3&amp;hl=es_ES" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

That's a comparison over the Ultra settings in PC toward the 360 version, which is (apparently) the medium setting.

Trust me, the Ultra settings in The Witcher 2 are more demanding than the specs of The Last of Us. So yes, the game could be played on a 360. Maybe on two DVD's, I don't know how much space does TLoU needs, though.

Show Forza 4 side by side with forza 5 to any person, pointing a shotgun to his head, if that person misses which one is the right one, he gets shot.

Only die hard xbros would go on this test, to the rest of the world looks like the same game.

And Ryse ? That game looks pretty much on par with crysis from 2007.

Microsoft PR guy must be blind.

The 360 version is only medium spec, amnd the POINT I think he is making is could the 360 run uncharted 2 or LOU as it is EXACTLY on Ps3 without looking/running worse? Considering both use an advanced technique called MLAA where cell is used to offload performance fropm the GPU, it is doubtfull.

Uncharted 1,2 and 3, God Of War 3 and Acention, The Last of Us.. all those PS3 exclusives could run with minor compromises on the 360. And they would look as good as the time and money at hand to port.

Idem for Halo 3-4, Gears 1, 2 , 3, Forza 2, 3, 4...

Just get on with this discution.

Oh, I guess I missed the part of the running "exactly as the ps3 version". Well, I don't know. I doubt it too. Maybe they can pull wonders like what they did with Halo 4, but that costs a lot of money.

Wrong/... These games use CELL and MLAA, where cell does a lot of work taking the laod off the GPU, this is Something the 360 CANNOT do, it's why uncharted, killzone god of war look better then anything on 360. Let me guess, you don't own a ps3? I own both, and there is a noticeable difference between those games and anything on 360.
