I have a Windows phone that I use to play some games on ... but the breakdown of my gaming usage is probably something like this: 85% 360, 13% 3ds, and 2% smart phone. I spend maybe 10-15 dollars a year on phone games and that is about it ... I avoid any game over a 2.99 price tag with some exceptions.

To be honest, I don't think I would have even started gaming on my phone at all if it was not for achievements being there. Smart phones are great, and everybody needs one, but a gaming device it is not.

I don't have kids, but I would much rather buy them a $130 2ds to play with over a $500 smart phone or $800 Ipad. Kids tend to break stuff I hear.

This is a big reason why mobile gaming will never overtake handhelds. They're pricey as heck, so anyone 12 or under that don't already have smart phones/tablets will always be there to buy handhelds. And then the hardcore gamers are turned off by the quality of games on smart phones/tablets.

Personally, as far as mobile/handhelds are concerned, I have a 3DS and an HTC One S smart phone, and I can't remember the last time I used my phone to game. And I'm on my phone all the time. I know some of the early Final Fantasy games are available for Android and what not, but why buy them when I could play them on an emulator?

They love Nintendo games, but hate the fact that they need a Nintendo console to play them on. They want to consolidate all of their favorite games onto one device, so deep down they wish for Nintendo to pull a SEGA and go third party.

If I had a dollar for everytime someone said Nintendo will die off and it didn't happen, I'd have enough money to buy Sony.

So the argument is that smartphones and tablets are now making games that can arguably compete against Nintendo's quality while remaining ridiculously cheap.

Alright then, find me a $2-$5 game that can compete against Pokemon X/Y (and Nintendo's other hard hitters) and then we will talk. Until then smartphones games are not for me, one who is a gaming enthusiast.

to be fair, he also said that microsoft and sony will fail if they won't change their course so in reality he thinks the same about all three companies but only wrote about the problems of nintendo.

and i have no clue how the daughter of a huge nintendo fan doesn't know what nintendo is. shouldn't he have some nintendo devices in his house?

i still wonder why people keep on saying that Nintendo's doomed when time and time again they prove them wrong, sheesh.
