Wanna bet? I'll happily take a bet that it will sell over 60k lifetime.

No it can't. Recognized quality brand + no identity problem alone will put it well above W101 in sales. It will likely also be better reviewed.

Just curious. Didn't the same thing happen with Mass Effect 1? I mean, I remember hearing that ms funded it and that's why they couldn't release it on ps3 when the second came out and had to make a comic to tell the new gamer the story. Then a while later, the trilogy came out. If it was funded by ms, how did that happen? I don't think either one of your statements is a fact. Yes, it's because of Ninty that a sequel is possible, but that doens't mean that a sequel would never have been made through diffrent funding, especially consideing how successful Kickstarter has been. As for the second sentence, again it might be true, but we've seen in the past equally weird things happening, unless I'm missing something.

That's a great point. I have no idea what happened to ME exclusivity. And just to side track, why the heck didn't MS just buy Bioware? Anyway, I too believe in the possibility it could cross over to PS4/XB1. I just know for a fact that someone high up once said RE4 would NEVER hit PS2. Well look what happened.
Exclusivity is such a fleeting concept.

Mass Effect did not exist solely because of Microsoft's funding.
What's next Dead Rising 3 is going to flop hard (which will probably not happen the pre order numbers look decent).

But funding alone doesn't make any sense. If we use contract law, and copyright law we may find a better answer. The IP owner has a right under copyrights to distribute the game. So unless Nintendo bought the IP rights to Bayonetta they can't have absolute control of future publishing and distribution. Under contract law, Nintendo can enter into a contract with the IP holder to secure exclusivity for a limited period of time. Most contracts have an end date so I assume this is what happened with Mass Effect exclusivity. Theoretically, the game should never have braced PS3 but it did because the contract expired or was re-negotiated (bought out by EA).
So in conclusion, unless Nintendo bought the rights to the intellectual property it's more likely a timed exclusive. Whether Bayonetta 2 ends up on PS4/XB1 probably comes down to funding. Who will want to fork up money to re-distribute it or buy out the contract?
That's my take on the issue.

I'd be willing to place a 6-month sig and avatar control bet that that will not happen.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Even if we assume that's the case, and Nintendo does not simply renew the exclusivity agreement upon its expiration to keep its exclusive secure, (when was the last time Nintendo let a game they funded and published go?) Microsoft and Sony already passed on the game when it was new, why would they fork out money for it once it's 5 years late? (to use Mass Effect 1's example)
Nintendo's not stupid enough to invest significant funds into the production of a game and then let it fall into the hands of its competitors. They would not have made such a financial commitment if they could not ensure exclusivity.
