Forums - Gaming - PS4/XboxOne Total Budget Estimated!!!

Facts are for loosers, I would rather take an opinion that the Xbone is better.

But seriously, what's the deal with the charger kit? You can't charge the xbone controler without it?

For the price of a standard Micro USB cable, you can charge the Xbox One controller or use it as a wired controller.

However, that said.  The Xbox One will only charge using a Micro USB cable if the Microsoft rechargable battery is installed.  Alkaline or rechargable AA batteries won't recharge in the controller using the Micro USB cable.

One for the WiiU:

WiiU - 299.99 (The Zelda Bundle)

USB HD 3TB (Seagate, its USB 3.0 but its 2.0bc with an ac adapter) - $140 (newegg)

Two games - $120 (At the maximum price because they vary, and Ubisoft loves digital sales.)

Pro Controler - $50.00(Gamestop)

Wiimote and numchuck - $55.00(gamestop)

Wii U USB Charge Cable - $10.00 (gamestop)

Sub Total - $675 (The totals are round up)

Sales Tax (6%) - $41

Grand Total - $716

The Hard Drive, charge cable and one of the two controller options are optional so here it is without the opitional items. (I removed the pro controller)

Sub Total - $475.00

Sales Tax (6%) - $29.00

Grand Total - $504.00

So this set up ends with Three retail games.

I got a Wii U USB charge cable but I don't know if it came with the Pro Controller or the console.  I can't remember.  Either way, it wasn't a seperate $10.

As a UK resident mine's in Royal English Pounds :D £

PS4 Console - £349
PS camera - £50
Vertical stand - £16
5 Games x £45 = £225 (BF4, AC4, Watch Dogs, Killzone, NFS : Rivals)
Total Cost for me = £640
Can stretch to £700 so add in Ghosts and an indie game like Witness.
PS+ is paid up until Jan 2015 so won't include that in my total.

You left out headsets, MS gives you one Sony doesn't.

You really should also include the camera into the cost of the PS4, you will need it to play some games and it will be needed to use all the features of the PS4, no additional purchase will be needed to play every game or feature that releases for the Xbox One.

I mean if you want to add in cost of the charge kit (which is not needed as many already have rechageables from last gen) you should be including all items.

Just my opinion.

Wii U can only take up to 2TB, and on Amazon that's $100.

Two games - $120 (At the maximum price because they vary, and Ubisoft loves digital sales.)

Pro Controler - $50.00(Gamestop)

Wiimote and numchuck - $55.00(gamestop)

I think that it should be noted that because of backwards compatability, most, if not all, people will already have this.

Wii U USB Charge Cable - $10.00 (gamestop)

That comes with the Pro controller, so I don't know what this does.

Sub Total - $675 (The totals are round up)

Sales Tax (6%) - $41

Grand Total - $716

I would remove the Wii Remote + Nunchuck instead, considering that although they work, the main additional controller for the Wii U is the pro controller.

Sub Total - $470.00

Sales Tax (6%) - $29.00

Grand Total - $499.00

So this set up ends with Three retail games.

FIxed. Comments in BOLD. I'd also note that because of the Wind Waker bundle, a lot of people just won't be purchasing two more games on top of that. Rather, they'll purchase just one. In the likely event that that happens, here's the price with only one purchased game (since it already comes with one):

Sub Total - $410.00

Sales Tax (6%) - $24.60

Grand Total - $434.60

So this setup ends with 2 retail games like the competitors.

The Xbox One comes with Killer Instinct. So, to begin you get a AAA game in the box, granted only one character, but for $20 you get a complete game.

With the PS4 you get Playroom. A game that really isn't a game but rather is just a tech demo, and you really need the PS4 Camera for it.

With the Xbox One you also get features like:
* Instant switching. It takes less than 1/2 of a second to switch from watching a movie to playing a game on the Xbox One. It takes 7 seconds on the PS4. 6.5 seconds of your life you've wasted waiting for your slow, pathetic PS4.
* Xbox One knows who you are. When you're logged in, the Xbox One is yours to play and command. It instantly recognizes who you are, logs you into the console, and brings up your profile.
* Up to 6 players on one console at a time. The Xbox One is capable of having up to 6 gamers logged in and playing a game at once.
* Instant Split Screen switching. The Xbox One instantly recognizes what position you're in and shows your screen based on your position to the other players. Want to try and trick it? Not going to happen. Switch controllers and the Xbox One instantly switches you from player 1 to player 2 or vice versa.
* Wi-Fi direct. Any Wi-Fi device has instant, easy access to your Xbox One and it's Internet connectivity. Use it for smartphones, tablets, or laptops, or use it for Wi-Fi audio or video equipment, and even home automation. Anything. Up to 600 ft away (LoS) or up to 300 ft away.
* RF Wireless. More responsive with greater fidelity, the Xbox One uses a revolutionary new technique to provide the best wireless connectivity ever available on the console. Interference free and long range, the Xbox One takes the best controller and marries it to the best wireless connectivity.
* Kinect. The best consumer depth camera got even better. Kinect's Time-of-Flight Active IR camera provides precision depth, visibility in complete darkness, and the ability to see you in all lighting conditions.
* Voice recognition and command. The Xbox One along with Kinect provides the best voice recognition and command available in home entertainment. Say something, say anything. There isn't a need to pick up a controller or remote, just say it and the Xbox One will do it.
* Multi-Device Remote Control. The Xbox One doesn't just respond to commands for your Xbox, but will be able to control your TV and other home entertainment devices. Through HDMI CEC, Kinect, and even an IR Blaster the Xbox One has the ability to remotely control your entertainment experience, Want to raise the volume, just say so. With Wi-Fi Direct and Xbox Apps, the number of opportunities for expansion of this to home automation offers a wider range of options.

Technically speaking, the PS4 does give you a wire with an ear piece on it.  Compared to the Xbox One's included headset it's junk, but it's free junk.

Aww I was hoping for good estimates in how much it cost to design these consoles. Instead I got this. I plan to get a PS4 and one game. So I know how much it costs. No need for this thread to tell me it costs a lot more.

I wanna know R&D costs more.

My thoughts? you don't need to buy a charger, you can use batteries, rechargeable or not.

Do one for Wii U considering things like the pro controller and a HDD, if you don't mind. Good work by the way.

Playstation = The Beast from the East
