I hate the religious and sociological elements of christmas.  I hate trees,I hate lights, I hate carols, I hate the colors and the smells....I just like having an excuse to buy shit, and in return I love getting gifts.  

I hate the holiday, I like some of its effects on people's acceptance of my greed and generosity. 

I really need to do that article on fanboys and anti-fanboys, and use this thread as a prime example.

Because this is the internet, and no thread would be complete without baseless bitching, nitpicking, and general whining.  I just got used to it, and you should, too. 

Please don't try and speak for anyone but yourself, least of all the rest of the world. (Yes you were.) If some people think it's okay to pay $50 for a re-release, please let them, instead of arguing they shouldn't. It's not like it's any of your business what others do or don't do with their money. Practice what you preach, sir.

DKC is also supposed to be $50. And THE reason why isn't hard to see. It has nothing to do with their perceived value of said games. They could charge $60 and get away with it, I'm sure most people assumed those games would be that much. They're doing it for the same reason they dropped the system price, to make their hardware and software attractive for new potential buyers, to get their sales back and track, and to try and compete with Nintendo.

A lot of people are going to go into the holidays, see the Wii U is $100 cheaper than PS4, and $200 cheaper than "One", and choose the cheaper console, that also has a nifty new bundle and a nice holiday lineup. If they can manage a steadier stream of software in 2014 onward, I think they will indeed be fine.

Also, they've kept the secret fourth character off the cover, probably so as not to spoil it before the game's Nintendo Direct.
