I hope Uncharted Golden Abyss will hit 1 million this week due to the price cut
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

and uncharted series is notoriously undertracked here.
back in April of 2012 ND announced they had shipped over 17.32 million copies of the uncharted games. whether or not that it included Golden Abyss, I dont know.
but i assume it didnt include it because they didnt make the game. but even if they did include it VGchartz had the sales at 14.4 million. so over 2.9 million on store selves at the time.
this my analysis at the time of the announcement in April 2012
17.3 million shipped
14.4 million VGC sales
Uncharted: GA: 0.53 million
Uncharted 1: 4.21 million
Uncharted 2: 5.56 million
Uncharted 3: 4.17 million
2.9 million on shelves
seems legit.
any way its probably 2 million undertracked/not reported digital sales.
with less than 2 million Vitas in the wild (1.9m) i will guess that Uncharted: GA has shipped ~1.32 million
that leaves 16 million shipped for Uncharted 1, 2, and 3. VGC has it at 13.9 million.
its likely sold 15 million. so 1 million undertracked for 1, 2, 3.
so my guess is sales really look like this:
Uncharted 1: 4.41 million (.2 million under)
Uncharted 2: 5.81 million (.25 million under)
Uncharted 3: 4.72 million (.55 million under)
so that would leave 1.1 million on selves for the 3 games
so overall vgchartz had the series way undertracked, and if they did include golden abyss, it was and still is way undertracked.

Same for inFAMOUS 2. Says data for this region is incomplete. I don't see why Sony would buy Sucker Punch after inFAMOUS 2 if it sold almost 1 million units less (according to VGC). inFAMOUS 1 has 600k sold in Europe and inFAMOUS 2 only 200k? Doubt it. |
yeah that game is also way past the 2M mark sold. i remember when people were talking shit back in 2011 saying gears3 outsold many PS exlusives combined, fast forward to current time and Uncharted outsold gears3 with 6M sold KZ is at 3M atleast, Infamous 2 is at 2M atleast and LBP is at 4M atleast.

Great stuff!
Holiday boost should see it past Uncharted 2. Both will reach 7 million.

Whaaaat. We need to bring this up with ioi or whoever. And by we I mean somebody more motivated than myself

Highly disagree. OT: I cannot believe this franchise is as strong as it is, considering its start! |
I should probably put that differently. It wasn't as amazing as 2. 3 was probably better, but it didn't wow in the same way 2 did as it wasn't a huge leap from 2
I remember back in the day, when people were predicting Uncharted 2 to sell less than 2 Million units lifetime.
Amazing how the series has grown.

(More acceptable but it still wow'd me more)

It looked a lot better graphically, to me. Only thing it lacked was that Hollywood, Terminator 2, Summer Blockbuster feel. It was a personal story, which ended up making it feel more like Uncharted 1, which I also liked more than Among Thieves. Not to get me wrong, Uncharted 2 was great, it's just not my fav in the series. |
It was mostly the pacing to me that set Uncharted 2 apart. I also quite liked the over the top feel of it, I think it works best that way, especially when you kill oh so many guards. Uncharted 3 also lost a few marks for its not quite authentic tube experience (though it did much better than CoD MW2)
