Forums - Politics Discussion - Kid Plays Violent Video Game, Kills his Caretaker.

kids, you need to watch them

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

isn't this coincidental how it happened just before GTAV launch.

Kid or not, someone who does that is fucked up in the head. Get rid of him now before he grows older and does worse.

Here's the thing.  Psychologically speaking... young children are MORE prone to committing murder.  They just don't because

A) They're weak ass kids

B) They're always being watched

C) Parents are practically unto gods and punishment avoidence

That's generally why Psycologists refuse to diagnose anti-social disorder until adulthood.  Children's brains just haven't fully developed yet.

An 8 year old being in Preconventional Stage 2 isn't that uncommon... it generally ends around 7, but still.  Him shooting her if he thought the alternative was more benficial actually isn't that farfetched.

In otherwords, tons of kids are that fucked up.  Young children are essentially all sociopaths.

I didn't say he was the only one.

Oh well if you hate children, I can fully support that.

Gun crimes are so easy to commit that you can't really blame a video-game as the cause.. Have people never seen an 8 year old before? They cry and do stupid things all the time... I just can't imagine how a parent could be so stupid as to leave a gun somewhere a kid could find it.... If anything this backs up the theory that guns should be banned entirely. Isn't it something like 10 times more likely that you will shoot your own family member than a criminal with the gun you bought for protection? No surprise here, if you are the slightest bit shocked at this then you are living in a fantasy world. Seriously people how can this shock anyone...

Something that people don't seem to realize. Now when a kid plays a game like Call of Duty, or something that is clearly adult games, and lets say he... kills a bunch of his friends in a online match. because he has fun doing that, he would also think its fun to do the real thing, and start shooting his friends next time at school right?... of course not. when you kill a person in a video game, the consequences are minimal, infact a lot of the time its beneficial (in the game) but in real life, when you kill someone, they will never respawn. they will never comeback. everyone has only one life, and there are no 1-ups in this world. much pain is caused, and considering you just killed your friend, your probably the one in the most pain right now.

the real world has dire and heavy consequences compared to the video game world, and kids know that. the ones that can't tell the difference between the two worlds, like the 8 year old we're talking about, are either really stupid, or mentally sick/wakko/crazy as hell... usually both. and this is usually the fault of bad parenting/guidance.

blaming video games in this situation is like blaming alcohol for killing a kid that drank to much of it because he didn't know any better or his PARENTS DIDN'T HIDE THE GOD DAMN VODKA!!!... lol
and we don't see the press blame alcohol in situations like that right? of course not! its obviously the parents who get blamed, and rightfully so.

Video Games, please drink play responsibly.

thats my take on it, but Its probably what everyone here already knows :p

Who the hell let an 8 year old play GTA IV?

This. Ratings exist for a goddamn reason.

The bigger issue, though, is what moron left a gun in reach of a child, and a mentally ill one to boot?

This whole situation screams parental/guardian idiocy.

I heard a little bit about this story but no details. All I can say is "What the fuck!?"

There's so much wrong with this situation that it's crazy! The kid was 8-years old, with a 90 year old woman, and he had a gun!? The kid was probably watching the 90 year old! Also, was the kid tested for drugs? I wouldn't be surprised to discover that he was high on PCP and had just finished watching bukakke porn.

The kid was probably fucked up before playing Gta IV, but that just gave him an idea, and he probably found his parents gun in house or something

Well I know where to go if I want to get a team of kids together to rob a bank.

There is a major disconnect between fantasy and reality that this kid does not seem to fathom if they are suggesting the video game prompted him to do it. Seems rather unfounded and coincidental. Bad people do bad things. This kid is one of many. I bet he ate Lucky Charms for breakfast, let's blame that instead.
