Forums - Politics Discussion - Kid Plays Violent Video Game, Kills his Caretaker.

Man, this is so sad. GTA V is just around the corner, and he's gonna miss it.

I tried not to make this joke. I really did.

Why are people concerned that he played GTA IV, first and foremost? Isn't the real issue here that he got his hands on a firearm that easily?
As for the game being at fault for the murder, we've been over this before, predisposition and all that, some are simply more prone to break-down and vile acts of savagery, regardless of video games.
There were kids and other people who did these things long before video games were a factor in society, they're just handy to blame since they're still not entirely accepted by mainstream media and society as a whole.

I think the article would do well in focusing more on childrens mental health and certain gun issues (how easily available guns are and how little people care about this, they should at the very least be locked away where children can't get them and ammunition be stored separately).

obviously adults in charge of the kid are responsible for what happened

and thy should be punished with homicide by negligence

I have a nephew who plays Saints Row Third, the kidoo is 5 years old.. I should definitely tape him sometime.

Why the fuck was that kid playing GTAIV? Is it so hard for parents/caretakers/guardians to take 5 minutes to monitor the type of games that kids are playing?

Also, how the fuck did he know where the gun was? The fault lies more on the caretakers than the kid himself, but still that child is messed up for life.

how the hell did a 8 yr old get access to a gun again sounds like bad parinting

the kid should also get punished when he becomes of age

Poor parenting.

Especially from the fact that he got access to a gun.

but, what if criminals show up when the parents are gone? a 87-90year old caretaker wouldn't be able to protect him, so the boy clearly needed access to firearms for selfprotection

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

First: 8 years and have acess a gun? come on!
Second: Mature games are for 18+ people. It is like saying that the 8 years old raped the caretaker after watching a porn movie.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
