Forums - Microsoft - RYSE is disappointing. New Gifs.

Wow this game looks terrible, just as I predicted it would end up being after the first video I saw. Some ppl were overhyping this to the degree I've seen ppl overhype some ps3 exclusives in the past.

The glitches aren't a huge deal since it has 3mos before release. This is what Pullus was pointing out with TLoU glitches. Glitches are the least of Ryse's concerns anyways.

OK OK that was an easy one, but come on can't we bait the baiter ????

please don't ban me again

Reported!!! j/k

I don't understand why people bring last of us into te conversation, TLOU was great I myself did not run into any bugs, and the bugs that were in the game are quite funny and hardly game breaking based on videos i saw online.

OT (yes talking about TLOU is not on topic!): These bugs are funny in Ryse but let's be honest, these bugs will also be barely game breaking and can still be removed before release!

This is exactly why people are bringing TLOU into the topic. Honestly it's easy to understand why.

The entire argument laid down in the OP is that he was willing to shell out over $600 to play this one game before he saw these gifs and videos that show some small graphical glitches and clipping issues. According to him there is not enough time to fix these issues and the game will suck because of it.

Yet he loves Last of Us, a game that has tons of clipping issues and a lot of the same graphical glitches we see in these Ryse videos, and it's an actual retail game you can go out and buy now. But that didn't stop LoU from being, as he said, "one of the best rated games of this gen".

So do you not see the contradiction there? The point in bringing LoU into the thread is not to crap on LoU or troll it for its loads of glitches, but to say, Game A has these issues even after it's released and is still fine. Why is Game B, which is not even released yet, instantly doomed for the same issues?

I see the contradiction but I chose not too care about fanboyism seeing as this is just a giant flamebait thread. But hey if you want to fight fire with fire be my guest. I just find it childish.

This is the kind of glitch that makes the experience even better

lol, pointing out LoU is loaded with the same type of glitches he is complaining about for another game has nothing to do with "fanboyism".

Really, should have stopped your reply after the first 4 words.

My main problem with the game is the fluidity in the combat. It just looks completely stale. When compared to God of War, this looks terrible.

That's my problem too. The bugs can be fixed by launch or in a patch but the gameplay overall just looks stiff and it looks like it's missing something. I guess we'll find out how it turns out in a few months but it looks a bit disappointing so far.

The game is a horror game, that is truely scary... reminds me of the enemies in Dead Space :) - Actually the game is amazing, and saw very few bugs, but thats games for you - some people will get some, some wont.

On another note, the IGN guy had this to say, which i found fascinating:

As far as I'm concerned, those questions have been answered to my satisfaction. My only concern about my hands-on time was the fact that it took place in a developer test area that won't be in the final game.

So what they were showing wasnt even in the game? What?

As for Demos/playtime at E3... I can forgive issues - but it's also a mistake to get the team to spend time on polished demo's as it takes away from time in dev. Which is why we probably saw a lot more "no" hands on demos..because you can easily pick a particular part of the game and just polish it more. While demos are separate branches of the game, and usually you have to do more to get one up and running.

But ironically to not have hands on time is also a mistake... it's a total no win situation for games devs, make a demo which might not show off the best of your game and eat up resources, or make it hands off, which means it will look better but no one will be able to play the game :(

Anyway, at this stage you are starting to get into the final bug fixing and final polish of the game (as they are 1st party released/launch games they will probably have a faster submission time).. but I would say they have at least another one/two months of polish, so still lots of time. Depends on when MS launch the console. Probably October the game will need to go for manufacture, they can probably still steal another 2-3 odd weeks for a day 1 patch for any annoying bugs that are still left. The key will be what bugs are serious enough that will impact the game that they *wont* be able to fix because they are poor design decisions or things that just dont work.

Anyway, just don't think its fair right now to criticise a game that isnt even released.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

It went from being a Kinect game on the 360 to an xbox one title. That should set off red flags galore.

The Crysis series aren't my favorite games, but you can't deny they're better than most shooters.

The first game was actually pretty awesome.

i agree, they are some of the better shooters (though killzone series is my favorite FPS series). Crysis graphics and gameplay are good to great.

its just i cant get past how unpolished they are (at least on console that is). frame rates that drop to the low teens, screen tearing galore. terrible AI that doesnt move or realize youre right in front of them, or even worse they no exactly where you are at all times as soon as you enter the area (the terrible AI was mostly Crysis 2).

but game play in Cyrsis is top notch. though the story is convoluted.

I don't remember any of that happening. When they didn't see you are you sure you didn't have the cloak activated?
