Getting Titanfall once the timed exclusivity is up. That game seems to cause everyone who plays it to act like they're on crack. Just like COD used to.

they should focus on a relaunch this holiday
and big ads everywhere of upcoming system sellers

THIS a hundred million times!!! Nintendo is in the perfect spot where they can treat this "relaunch" as if it was a completely new console. People not knowing that the Wii U exists could actually be a huge advantage to them in this regard. And honestly, it has the potencial to be pure marketing genious. Especially with bundles acting a "launches." A Wind Waker HD "launch" bundle in September, A Wii Fit U "launch" bungle in December. A Super Mario 3D World "launch" bundle too. With good advertising, they could turn a year of failure into one of the most engenious marketing schemes ever concieved! And it would perfect because it can only work if no one knows that the Wii U exists. They can effectively have two successful launches for one console! They already have a 4m install base buffer before the holidays. With a proper relaunch campaign, they could genuinely match and surpass launch numbers this holiday. (Not PS4, but definitely XBO) Most people would simply think that the Wii U is coming out this holiday. Genious really.

Moneyhatting for Nintendo just doesn't work. Collaborations don't work. We're seeing it just now as i'm typing this.

They collaborate with NamcoBandai on SSBU. A huge project. One would think it improves relationships and NamcoBandai will bring their franchises to WiiU? NO! Where is Dark Souls 2? Where is Soul Calibur? Where is Ridge Racer? Where is the next Tales game? Where is the next Gundam? Not on WiiU, thats for sure.

They moneyhat Capcom for MH main series exclusivity. You'd think that constitute an improved relationship? NO! Where is Ultra SF4? The new Strider game? With all their other franchises the message is the same from Capcom: "We have no plans to bring this and that to WiiU".

They moneyhat SE for Dragon Quest main series exclusivity. You'd think that constitute to SE bringing their other franchises? NO! Where is Final Fantasy 15? Kingdom Hearts 3? Tomb Raider? They give us effin' mmo Dragon Quest. I dont give a flying F for mmo dragon quest while i'd kill for a traditional DQ ala DQ 7 and 8.

The same goes for Sega, Konami, and TecmoKoei. In Sega's case they have Sonic exclusivity. Does that bring Virtua Fighter, Yakusa, Phantasy Star Online 2 or any other franchise to WiiU? No.

These companies just cant be depended on AT ALL.

Therefore, number one and two alongside improved marketing would be the way to go.

They money hatted Capcom for MH4. Vita has been still born to date and 3DS has an 85% market share. I would say that particular money hat worked quite well.

Retro and Monolith are first party, not second party.

Nintendo should invest in both expanding their existing teams with devs experienced in HD development, and buying up new teams.

You clearly did'nt get my point. Nintendo have a strategy of building relationships through collaborations and moneyhatting Japanese publishers in an effort to make them invest their other franshises into Nintendo products. Like the WiiU for example. In the context of what this thread is about I stand by my original post.

Nintendo should give Mario a long rest.

I just want new games. Is that so much to ask? Something new and fresh like Pikmin was on the GameCube.

Desktop: AMD Phenom X4 955, ATI Radeon 7950 :: Laptop: Intel i7-3532QM, ATI Radeon 7670m

Consoles: 3DS XL, PS Vita, Zelda 3DS, PS3 Super Slim, DSi, PSP Go, PS3 Fat, Wii, GameCube, PS2

Now Playing: Metroid Prime 2, Dark Souls, Fallout: New Vegas, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Persona 4: Golden

They should definitely invest into some hardcore marketing. They could actually change the brand image without changing a thing. "The all new Wii U! The U stands for ULTRA!"

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Shigeru Miyamoto

Really need to focus on advertising well. NoA ads have been horrible last couple years.

And really market some of their newer IPs better. People keep claiming that Nintendo makes no new IPs when they do all the time, just to have them either fail or go unnoticed because they give it a very minimum push.
