Forums - Gaming - Thinking Of Swapping My PS4 Pre-Order For An XBox One

For me the smart thing is to wait a few months after launch until we have a good idea of most of the exclusives coming in the first couple years, rather than just looking at launch lineups. The Wii U is a great example of a console with a mediocre launch, yet a fantastic overall lineup when you look at its first 2 years on the market. And that's just based on what we know is coming so far.

But if you're set on going for day 1 then I guess launch lineups are the best way to gauge which system you'd prefer.

If I were in your shoes I would grab TitanFall & Watchdogs.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

It just seems to me like MS is really good at putting out a strong launch lineup. XBox and XBox 360 both had really solid launches too IMO.

But the core gamers that purchased got really screwed over in the long run, especially with the 360. I don't think the XBone will be any different, unfortunately. :(

The Kinect being a major part of most games is the biggest turn off for me, right now.

How is Kinect a major part of most games?  It seems more likely, that Kinect will give additional features, but not required features.  Really, Kinect being a required compnenet just ensures that a developer who is interested in making Kinect focused games can do so knowing the install base is there.  You wouldn't have to buy a Kinect game.

Pick what ever you want. Some will say your wrong simply because your not choosing their console of choice and I recommend not listening to those few. It's all subjective so if you think X1 has more games your interested, get it and visa versa.

It is the better choice really. Playstation 4 is heavily overrated and won't get special exclusives at/after launch. Xbox One is getting lots of (unique) exclusives on launch and launchwindow. Ryse, Titanfall, Dead Rising, Halo, Fable, Killer Instinct, Forza 5, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Project Spark. I think these are really unique and better games. Get the Xbox One.

Yeah, I don't think those games are coming out for a while.. MS just showed CG trailers for them titles and not much else.

To OP, get whatever you want. This thread is only going to attract stealth troll'ers (here and there) and end in some pointless debates.

Me personally, seeing the new Kinect features is actually making me want to buy an Xbox One in 2014 where a week ago I actually didn't want to buy either the One or the PS4.  So, while Kinect is a difference maker for me, I can see why some people wouldn't want to pay an extra $100 for a peripheral that they don't want.  I hope Kinect 2.0 attracts more buyers than it pushes away.

I am feeling the same way about getting the XBOne sooner rather than later.  I do find it unfortunate that people feel cheated for having to get it in the box.  But, I think that if it weren't required, we wouldn't see some of the capabilities that should come from its technology ever make it to the games.

Believe me, you won't be alone. But I would say to anyone that if you simply must get a system at launch, get a XOne. If not, wait and see which of the three systems is most attractive from an overall standpoint and decide for yourself.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Ultimately, you have to get what system u think is best. My take on launch lineups:

Killer instinct just had some bad news come out (only 6 total characters at launch, no story mode). What's there tho seems like it will be solid.
Dead Rising 3 actually looks like it could be pretty sweet. The newest gameplay videos really changed my opinion of it.
Ryse looks poor to me. Since the first video, I predicted it will end up okay at best (but more likely crap).
Forza looks like they made another good game. Not a racing game fan, but no denying they put quality into their games.

inFAMOUS SS looks amazing (thank God since I2 was such a disappointment)
Killzone SF looks like it could be pretty sweet. MP will be great. Hoping campaign matches the multiplayer quality this time around.
Knack looks mediocre and underwhelming as of now. Think the gameplay may be really good, but the artstyle is poor.
Driveclub looking mediocre also at this point. Unless new videos show some great things not yet seen, think it'll remain that way.

Havent paid much attn to ps4s indie titles, but seems like there's a lot of hype around some of them.

Prior to the bad news about KI and the recent news that inFAMOUS SS will be a launch window title, I felt XBO's launch lineup was undeniably stronger than PS4s. Now, for my taste, ps4 is superior due to I:SS. Generally speaking, tho, I'd say they're now somewhat even.

Why does this need a thread? No one gives a flying fuck what you purchase.

Are you looking for fellow fickle members to come in like yeah I'm in the same boat so you can feel better about actually doing it or what?

Seems really petty and pointless.

Yeah these posters that are trying to push him to get PS4 says otherwise.
