Pikmin is a tiny franchise dude. it doesn't have that mass market appeal that DK, Mario and Zelda have.


With all due respect,  if NSMBU barely managed to push units (and btw, the VGC numbers are considerably overtracked for the game even then according to Nintendo's own numbers that also included digital to boot), DK isn't going to have any serious affect.

3D World is where it's REALLY going to take off though, yes, and MK/Smash are going to absolutely blow sales up.

do not want to get into the middle of the arguement here. but didnt the gamecube actually have a better launch then the Wii? or was it just launch week?

I don't think the PS4 will be the fastest selling console of all time. The fastest selling console of all time was based upon the first years of casual demand, sure but that was a new audience that more than likely will not be touched again by anyone (including Nintendo) for a while. Lets see if Nintendo can meet the casual demand again....or whether they will just enjoy their tablets and move on shall we?

Wii U sales are atrocious..But no, no way. Do people not see the writing on the wall here? There will be no Wii this generation. This industry is not healthy.

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

Just ask yourself if the $400 PS4 will have a better launch than the $250 Wii had in 2006. With no chance of getting the Wii Sports market.

The Wii, PS2, and every other great console launch was limited by supply, not demand. Pointing out anything beyond units available about these other systems is beyond pointless. If the PS2 and Wii had enough demand to sell 10 mil at launch but only had a supply of 4 mil while the PS4 only has enough demand for 8 mil but has a supply of 6 mil, the PS4 sells more at launch.

The Wii brought vitality into the gaming industry, because the people who majorly bought the Wii werent gamers. The Wii is that casual hot item that comes around once in a blue moon in the gaming industry. It might not stay in the majority of houses forever, but it could revitalize a very gloomy time for gaming. If actual gamers are not buying games then we can accurately gauge a true low point. The Wii's allure came out of nowhere because at least the PS2's sales could be gauged at 150 million, but the Wii's could not.  You cannot predict the rise and fall of that console.

Wii U is already 3.5mil ahead with Mario coming out this christmas. It'd be a hell of a push by Sony to outsell it.

just this year. so Wii is just 1M ahead. around half a million if we are talking about shipments. personally i always prefer to talk about shipments since they are official numbers
