Sony only innovates

Why would you list the PS4's camera, when the kinect itself was rather shamelessly inspired by the Sega Activator :P

We could go on for weeks listing everything each of the big three has stolen/improved upon from the other. I'd say nintendo are the least prone to copying, but even they have their fair share.

fix'd that for you

3D stereo cam... I guess that came out of nowhere.

what original idea did microsoft steal from sony?

They entered the business. Genius decision or "idea".

They didn't copy anything though.

What exactly is MS copying? Their policy changes have all seemed to land them right back in line with the Xbox 360.

The only thing that could even come close to qualifying is better indie support, and that is not something exclusive to nor created by Sony.

All the policy changes that have been announced are basically ones that are already on 360 so it's not copying Sony at all. The only new policy that is different from 360 is allowing indies to self-publish but that's something that is on the vast majority of game platforms (PC, Mobile, Consoles, etc) so that isn't even copying Sony. It's Sony that is still the copycat since they will now be charging for online multiplayer for example.

Microsoft introduced unified memory with the original Xbox, the Wii U followed it, and now the PS4 is following it.

Microsoft used GDDR memory in the Xbox 360, and now the PS4 is following it.

Corrected. Not sure if you wrote it wrong or anything, but the 360 actually used GDDR3 and EDRAM, while the original XB is the one with unified memory, since it used DDR RAM for everything. :)

Didn't Sony come out with something recently that was kind of questionable? What was it again...?

Oh yeah! PlayStation Vita Pets. Heh, it took me awhile to remember the name.

Already a topic to discuss that.  No need for another.

MS didn't invent paying to play online either. I know Xband charged a monthly fee, and I am sure there are more than a couple Japanese only online peripherals/services that charged for online play. And of course there was SegaNet, which was like a 56k version of Xbox Live.

Microsoft didnt copy Sony, they just reversed their terrible decisions.
