Isn't the xeno series already a franchise?

Depends on what you define as "franchise". To my knowledge, Xenogears and Xenosaga aren't officially related, and Xenoblade is far less similar.

I think its a good idea, most Nintendo franchises don't usually appeal to me but if this was one of their franchises then that would change.

Er. But it IS one of their franchises.

Or do you mean that if it was a guaranteed regular release on a Nintendo system, you would be more interested? If you don't buy it, then there won't be more Nintendo franchises like this.

Also, the point raised earlier about piracy of Xenoblade discouraging Nintendo from pushing X in a major way, you could read that the other way around. Piracy of Xenoblade was rampant because Nintendo stated the game was not coming to North America, and because European stock was extremely limited. Nintendo deprived people of a legitimate way to obtain a highly anticipated and critically acclaimed game, so people resorted to piracy to obtain it. If anything this shows how much interest there was in Xenoblade, hence Nintendo talking about X during their Direct broadcasts. Nintendo know there's an audience for this game, and that the audience will pirate it if they can't obtain it legally. If Nintendo don't do everything they can to push the title in a big way, then they are essentially turning down consumers money.

I don't think X can be a 5 million selling affair because JRPGs are increasingly niche products in the West, and Xenoblade was less appealing to the Japanese market than the more linear Last Story, suggesting that the latter title is more akin to what the Japanese market wants. With enough marketing I'm sure X can match and exceed Xenoblade's success, but expecting it to become a multi-million selling affair doesn't really pay attention to the wider state of the market. That being said, if X can go onto sell 1 million or more, and turns a profit, I'd consider it a success. Not every game or franchise needs to be hitting 3 million or more to be successful, we've only reached that point because of inflated marketing and poor budgeting across many major publishers.

This in a rush for work cant eleberate ^^

Let's give the media a break with X. They didn't get ANYTHING on the game outside of the trailer during the direct. Nothing at all. No one knows anything about it. I read an article on a site called Twodashstash.com and the article title was "What is "X"?" And it worked because all he (the writer) had to go off of was the trailer.

IGN was the same way cause the only thing they did with "X" was do a rewind trailer.

A lot of people are excited for this, especially us fans, once a big new reveal happens the media will be all over it.

In case you didn't know, I have a comic book called Guardians. I'm the writer/creator of it, and we have four issues out right now, with our fifth coming out soon!

We're also doing a Patreon right now for the comic, and I'd appreciate any and all help in getting it funded. If 56 people pledged $3 per issue, we'll be funded

X might be related to Xenoblade, but te rights to Xenobears, Xenosaga and Xenoblade are all owned by different companies. The only thing that ties them are the names. The only reason they called it Xenoblade, was to honor one of the men that worked on the game.

Either way, the question is not about making it a franchise, rather making it a big seller.

yeah.
I still didnt understand why the game name wasnt 'the monado sword' instead of 'xenoblade'.

Xenoblade was chosen as the name as a tribute to the director of the game, and the founder of Monolith Soft, Tetsuya Takahashi, who was also the director of both Xenogears and Xenosaga.

I wish we knew more about X. We only know the trailer and that's it, it's very frustrating cause we all want to know more about it.

Please Nintendo! Give us more info!

I think Nintendo is already making Project X into a franchise. It would be different if this were the first game (I know its not a sequel to Xenoblade) But to see Nintendo putting more money into another AAA Jrpg comforts me in that Nintendo is willing to make new ips that are jrpgs
