Looks like you can create your own version of vgchartz...

Boy, you're good at avoiding questions. I don't need my own version of VGChartz when I have you around -- in your version of VGChartz, anything is possible as long as the end result is bad for Nintendo.

In my version of vgchartz, official numbers will be used when available.

Please define "official numbers" for the court.

Official numbers - numbers reported by the console manufacturers, developers or publishers.

I already like the 3DS better than the DS. I would, but how would we tell such a thing? In my perspective it already has, so you will close your account down now? Since you are a gafian spy here to torment us?

Oh you mean personal preference. I thought you meant sales.

I do not know about sales. I do not know what the DS did at the same time frame right now. This thread was a pain to look up on the chartz. They should fix that tool for sure. Week by week was lame.

Anyways, this thread is about the 20 million mark. Not if it will do better than what the DS did at this time. What did it do? I may make the bet if you look it up for me.  :) Vgchart numbers of course.

Well, we could use vgchartz number but we need to know how much the DS sold in its 3rd year. Nintendo numbers are 29.18M.

Is that fiscal or calender year?

Official numbers - numbers reported by the console manufacturers, developers or publishers.

Numbers reported by console manufacturers are shipped.
Developers and Publishers (if they aren't the manufacturers) don't report hardware numbers.  They wouldn't know.

Those are the only official numbers we will ever get. How many 3DSs were sold to customers in Papua New Guinea or New Caledonia or in the US - there's no way to know what those numbers are. Even NPD numbers are estimates and educated guesses.

In addition to the above, from the publisher's perspective, those shipped numbers are sold numbers. When people say X million of iPhones were sold, it's how many iPhones were shipped.

You asked me to define official numbers, not official hardware numbers. So, I included official numbers for games as well.

Shipped =/= Sold.  It only counts as sold to the manufacturer.

Also, these "guesses" and "estimates" you refer to have a degree of accuracy to them.  It would be too complicated to explain them to you.

Also, when people say X million consoles sold, they DON'T mean shipped unless they are a confused journalist.
