Well... I think it will probably the best seller in the whole series... The only reason I am saying that is because it has taken the biggest leap in decades... This is officially the first 3d pokemon and it has tons of new features and new gameplay elements

This will probably sell at least 20 million + 3ds on its life time

This is what I meant when I said anecdotal evidence. Judging by internet hype the Wii U and the PS Vita would both have been a huge success and the Wii a total failure. I can counter this with my own anectodal evidence: I have more than half a dozen close friends who played Pokémon on the DS (yes, really). Only one of them (and myself) will buy the 3DS games though. Does that mean the games will only sell 1/3 of the DS games? Of course not. Again: I can easily see this crossing the 15m mark. I just don't see any evidence it is more likely than any other Pokémon game to break 20m. I hope they do. The games look great. 



Lets find out, i still believe minimum is 17 maybe 18mil

Wattttt??? they had a bundle? Well nobody cared for it im guessing! This gen lots of people want a bundle! Maybe its because B/W released with a user base of 100mil+? my guess

yeah i barely remembered it. it is hard to sell somthing like thtat when most pepole who want to play pokemon already had a DS .

to answer your question i dont now it could but it would depend on a couple of things like how well the 3DS sells for the rest of its life time and when they decide to release the next games be it a 3rd versoin a squeal or gen 3 remakes but right know i think some where around 16-18M is what its going to sell 



your right, imo i think pokemon Z is likely in 2015(maybe an early summer release) and remakes afterwards (2016). The game can sell between 16-18mil without a doubt, im just asking does it have a chance and now i would answer a very good one. Never seen this hype with the last 3 generations, i was too young to notice hype for the first two(even thoughim from tht era). I know is that this game better get the good scores it deserves. Its literally keeping the best parts of pokemon with expanding so much content that has yet to be seen between new gens! of course this is all my opinion

its a possibility it could sell 20M + but its a unlikly.whith the hype thing i was to young for the first 3 and i didnt really use the interent till after gen 4 came out so i dont know but i remeber ther was a lot of hype for gen 5 and a alot of pepole who hated every thing they were showing this time around i havent seen much negative things said about this gen.  

its going to be hard to beat black and whites perfect 40/40 famitsu score.

as much as i love to agree, nothing will pass gen1, Red/Blue/Green has over 30mil. But i do hope it'll pass Gold/Silver (23mil), but that seems very unlikely imo. Max i see this doing is 21mil, but i'll be happy to be proven wrong

i cant see it being the best seller in teh series i cant see it selling 32 million unless somthing werid happens and the pokemon craze of the 90's happens again

I'm not saying "no"... I'm just saying, let's be realistic.

3DS has been out for two and a half years, or to put another way, is roughly 30% through it's lifespan already, and the top-selling game so far (3D Land) hasn't hit 9 million yet.

I suppose we'll be able to paint a better picture for Pokemon X/Y as we look at how much sales spike over the Thanksgiving and Christmas period.

its guaranteed to sell more than b/w easy, idont care if the user base is 33mil vs 140mil+(DS at that time)


The DS was plagued by heavy piracy aswell so the numbers cant be compared 1 to 1.

realistic, yeah of course if your only looking at userbase, but time and time again can prove that userbase doesnt mean everything! Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby had 16mil on a user base of 80mil right(GBA)? while the next gen game D/P had 18mil on a user base that was almost double that of GBA! 3DS wont sell as high as DS but to say pokemon wont hit 20mil base cuz of 3DS? Dont forget there are alot of people buying 3DS's just for this game! Also this game has many elements evolving and changing and there is so much hype behind the game, Like i pointed out before this game aint going lower than 16mil. Also to prove a point who would of thought MKWii sell over 30mil+ right when no game on ps2 sold over 20mil!!!! Differene being PS2>>>>>>Wii in userbase!

Of course it will be the best in series! Anyone who says otherwise is being blinded by nostalgia! As for how much it'll sell, hard to say at this point. It mainly depends on how long Pokemon Gen 6 and Videogame Gen 8 last.
