What do most of you guys prefer, for a developer to put most of its resources in developing the singleplayer aspect of a game, or mostly in the multiplayer aspect. So in other words, do you prefer single or multiplayer?

For me personally I enjoy singeplayer focused games more, I also love multiplayer games, but I don't want that to become the norm, I still want my singleplayer fix. Sure some games have both, but usually(not all the time) that ruins the experience of one or the other, barely any game does both of them greatly, but it seems that nowadays everygame must have multiplayer in it. Hopefully the great singleplayer games continue to be developed in high volume.

Depends on the type of game.

Mario? Single player.

Super Smash? Multiplayer.

In most cases tho it will be singleplayer.

Most of the games I play are single player, I get kinda annoyed when I see games like Uncharted or God of War add multiplayer. The only multiplayer games I really enjoy are Mario Kart and Smash Bros, also I prefer local multiplayer much much more than online.

I love multiplayer games really, but I've been trying hard to stay away from them, because they don't offer the kind of experience single player games can. With multiplayer games, even though I am having fun, I'm usually just doing the same thing over and over again. Instead I could be working on my huge backlog.

But anyway, in a series like Uncharted, the focus should be single player. If the focus is single player, it should be obvious. If it is multiplayer, that should be obvious. I think sometimes it can be good to have a co-op story mode, like in Halo games.

Singleplayer. I honestly really don't care for multiplayer unless it's an MMORPG.

Single player, easily.

Local multiplayer can be fantastic fun, but I have to be in the mood, whereas I can almost always sit down and enjoy some alone time with a great game, and shut out the rest of the world.

Online multiplayer is almost always a total bust to me; if the other players aren't in the same room, it's generally no fun.

I almost always play SP. If your game is great at that then it earns a place in my permanent collection (no trade ins) and I play it at least once a year because great games I get an itch for at least that often. I've never gone back to MP in a game years later and played it. So this whole notion that you need MP to keep a game alive is untrue.

Depends on the game. Though I wish that games that have a greater emphasis on the multiplayer aspects typically had more local mp options available, because eventually the servers / network infrastructure that most online console games utilize will no longer function, thus making the multiplayer portions of alot of games pretty much useless.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
