It's a coca cola ad! If this was made by Sony as an actual game, I would understand the disgust.

If the game does make a return, hopefully one of Sony's bigger studios or a third party partner like Namco or someone will make a fighting game that will bring out the best out of the Playstation mascots. |
Yeah Superbot effed this up no question and Sony certainly didn't handle getting them the rights to character very well either. I get it Crash, Spyro, Lara Croft, Big Boss, and FF characters are third party. Guess what so were Big Daddy, Raiden, Dante, and Heihachi. Other than Heihachi and the OLD Dante those characters aren't nearly as associated or game selling as the ones I mentioned. Tell Capcom you want AT LEAST a skin for old Dante. Tell the other companies they're basically getting free advertising for any future games in their franchises by adding these characters and offer them a hefty sum none the less. Seriously were Sony being cheap or were third parties just being dicks because this was ridiculous that they couldn't get this sorted out.
So now you have the right characters (in addition to the first party ones they already had). Correct the gameplay. Don't make it a "hardcore" fighter with only supers killing. You're going to be called a Smash clone regardless so just make ringouts and percentages part of at least ONE game mode. Everyone gets one super like in Smash and it's dropped by the stage like Smash. Noticing a pattern here? JUST MAKE SONY SMASH BROS! It's not that hard. Make it different enough you don't get sued or something but outright copy the feel. You have the characters (or should be able to get the ones you don't own) that your brand associates with, so just make the stages (the one thing Superbot did right) and combat like Smash and I'm one damn happy fan. Instead I got this weird only supers kill and former Xbox exclusive characters cheap borefest. I normally love what Sony puts out but this was my most disappointing game of the gen considering how easily it could've been done right.
What's with this massive overreaction? So there's a crappy playstation game on iOS, oh no let's start a riot.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Sony's got to do something to stay relevant.? lol what hell are you talking about? |
While a number of hard core gamers on this site are stepping over themselves to get a PS4, I don't think that will last with the general public.
I can see why they would try to get their character branding out there, to try to get more people to play. While I agree with another poster it lowers their branding, they need to do what they can with their competition and situation being the way it is.
When going up a snowy road, the last thing you want to do is stall.

And most people seem to like that game on their mobile devices... user ratings 4 out of 5 stars on average in the iOS AppStore and Google Play will not hurt the brands. "Temple Run" is one of the most downloaded mobile games ever, so that gameplay as reference for the Nathan-Drake-part to reach the masses is not the worst choice for Coca Cola and Sony.
So it doesn't seem to be such a desaster some people here want it to be. Or the smartphone gamers have more realistic expectations and don't expect a full-fledged console game on their touchscreen device for free.
The REAL shame is that "Playstation All-Stars Island" is in the iOS AppStore and Google Play, but not in PS Mobile... so I can't try it out with the PS Vita. ;)
I honestly thought this thread was about the PS4 selling out everywhere
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Any company that has creativity and brings more new IP into the world than their competition is alright in my book.

We actually agree on something! There has to be some crazy celebration now! With pie!
I agree. I love PSASBR and have so much fun playing it. Then Sony Santa Monica says they're going to stop supporting it. That caused the community to start a petition to get SSM to keep supporting it that got over 2000 signatures (which Sony ignored), so Sony isn't going to support the actual game because they've been busy making this? Really?
I make videos that are sometimes funny I think?

No, All-Stars Island is from another developer: Zoink Games (specialized to advertisement apps)

No developer of All-Stars Battle Royale were harmed creating All-Stars Island, Bluepoint Games and SuperBot Entertainment had nothing to do with the touchscreen game. Don't blame PSASI for the ended support of PSASBR, all they share is the name and some of the characters.
